Festool RAS 115 E 4-1/2 inch sander problem?

Fairly new Festool owner and just got my third piece ( a sander) to be used in Maloof style rocker builds.
My concern is that the sander has a moderate "grinding" noise in the head as it runs and would like to know if that is normal.
It sounds maybe like a right angle gear mesh that does not seems smooth as one would expect from Festool.
Do other owners experience this?
I can live with it if its normal but don't want to run a faulty unit just until it fails.
Thx for any help

Thanks guys. No problem with noise if it is not destructive!
A "little" disappointed with torque when using 24 grit Saphir paper grinding down 3/4 plywood to 1/12 pitch on a handicap ramp. Slowing the rate eventually got the job done.
I bought this to use in building a Maloof style rocker per recommendation of Charles Brock. It will see plenty of use.
Appreciate the responses!
