Festool Reciprocating Saw

I've used mine in a couple renovations. I'm pretty happy about it. I replaced a corded makita with tge RSC and haven't noticed any drop off in capability. Added benefit of dust collection is much appreciated. I would recommend the 5ah batteries.

I have owned one for a couple of years, but never used it (Yeah, I know…). But last week a friend of mine (a really good one, bc I don’t like to lend out my Festools) used it for demo and was really impressed by it.

I hope you have at least used the batteries with something else? That can't be good for them.

Anyone contemplating a cordless recip saw needs to be aware of just how much current they pull at full bore when doing heavy work. I use a Hilti SR4 on their 22-volt platform, mostly using it to cut through old door and window frames as I'm removing them to install new ones. An 8.0Ah B22 Hilti battery goes from fully charged to dead in around 15 minutes. A 5.2Ah B22 lasts under ten.

I have the festool. It is bad ass. Feels great in hand. I do not use it for endless demo nor would I would use any cordless for endless demo. I like cordless sawzalls with a hook as the work flow is pleasing. The saw is powerful enough for anything but if I am doing non stop cutting I have an avt corded makita. I also have the 40v makita. The festool is better in hand to me.

Its  too fat  and  big  bodied imo.
Have  the  milwaukee  recip saw  and  really  like  it.
Plus I don't know  the design  of  the  blade  retainer  but the  milwaukee  is  the best  one  I have  seen  so far which was  my  main reason  for  going  milwaukee.

On a related note, I'm a big Milw sawzall fan. Always have been. They work, take a beating and not expensive to replace. Lasts better than a Bosch sawzall but that's another story.
A couple years ago, I thought I had put the sawzall in the truck, I didn't. Ran to Home Depot because I had to have a sawzall that day. Bought a baby size ridgid sawzall figuring it would be good for a day, cheap. I have to say that thing has been awesome. I thought it would die quickly. The smaller size works out well for so much work.
If you want a smaller size sawzall for whatever, look at the ridgid, it has been amazingly great.
