Festool Roadshow Coming to the Tool Nut on November 5th - Save the Date!

Yes Shane was traveling today.  But the Shaneanator is now in NY safely.

Enjoy the day tomorrow guys!

Peter

Thanks guys.  And if any of you are there tomorrow make sure to say whatsup if you happen to spot me.  I'll be showing up around 10:30, and at 6'5", I imagine I will be one of the taller attendees.

[member=37411]Edward A Reno III[/member], I would definitely bring it along with you. I'm sure the guys will be glad to take a look at it and offer suggestions to remedy the issue or recommend repair. And, Steve Bace will be there. See you in the morning.

How about some pictures and videos ?

Seth

At about 1:00 p.m. today, I received a postcard from Festool announcing the Roadshow at Toolnut today. The show was scheduled to run from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Since I live almost 3 hrs away, I could not figure out how to get to the show in time. Shows local to me will be coming later in November and I wonder when I will receive notice.

Festool marketing really needs to get their act together.

Didn't take a whole lot of pictures, but here's one of the truck. Learned a couple of helpful things from the reps. First was a more refined way of tightening the blade guide on the Carvex - all this time I didn't realize that it was optimal to tighten the guide when the blade holder was descended all the way on the down stroke. Second was about the persistent clogging problem on the ro90, where dust accumulates in the housing underneath the pad. Apparently they have or they are soon to revise the design, whereby the metal on the back of the housing (the section right above the dust chute) will be perforated, making a better escapement for the dust. Rep suggested I might be able to have service switch out for the perforated design, since my tool is less than 2 years old. That would be nice, as it gets tiresome cleaning out the housing after every sanding session.

Goody bag included the wooden folding ruler, which I'm totally psyched about, since I don't currently have one.  Only disappointment was not winning any of several multi hundred dollar gift certificates they handed out through the event.

A good time was had by all. Thanks [member=48572]Shane Holland[/member] and Toolnut for hosting.

Here are a few pictures. Once people started showing up, it was very busy from about 10:30 until 1:00 roughly. I intended to take more photos, but got wrapped up in talking to folks. We had a camera mounting above the demo area on the truck, so I snagged a few photos from there.

In addition to the Roadshow truck and the fine folks from Festool, we were very lucky to have Dave Reinhold, Builder Bob and Sal come out and set up under some tents doing additional demos. It was great to catch up with some good friends here from the FOG, as well as meeting some new folks. Thanks to everyone who came out to see us on Saturday.

Shane

I have to say I had a blast on Saturday!  I didn't take a single picture...I was caught up in tons of conversation with a lot of new faces, some or many which are probably on here and I didn't even know or realize!  Thank you to Festool & ToolNut for hosting the show!  The trailer was really impressive...now I have ideas for a traveling shop!
