Just received an used old OF2000 (not OF2200) with a damaged 12mm collet. I tried the collet of my dewalt 625 and it fits, apparently...
Any experiences in cross compatibility with dewalt/elu or other brands collets?

Don't assume that just because the threads match that the collet is fitting properly in the tapered recess in the motor spindle. It may be longer, shorter, a different angle, etc. Both the "male" and the "female" part of the collet have to match up exactly as designed to hold securely.

Mixing router collet parts is asking for trouble.

Except for a router like the new one that Woodpeckers has coming. It uses an industrial CNC-grade ER-20 collet and comes with 1/4" and 1/2" collet inserts, but you can use any collet insert compatible with an ER-20 collet from 1/16" to 1/2" including metric sizes.

That is something that router should have had long ago. I would buy one for my router table if I didn't have the PC7518 in there now.

It might make a good router for Woodpeckers Slab Mill but I don't think it comes with a base which you would need to mount it on there.

The collet is the part that spins at 20.000 RPM and keeps it all together. I would not improvise with that, just order the original collet from Festool.
