Hi all

I have recently picked up an OF1440 EBQ Plus from someone on a job and have recently noticed that the carbon brushes spark a bit when running and then flare as I power off. I hadn't noticed it before but that doesn't mean that it wasn't doing it! It doesn't happen on my OF1010 so I checked under the hood and the brushes don't look like they need changing for a good while yet. Does anyone please have any experience or suggestions? It might just be one of those things but I'm always keen to stay out in front of tool care where possible!

Can be seen here :

Thanks

That's normal, if you search for of1400 sparks, you'll find a few threads. The bright sparks when you release the trigger are caused by the electronic brake.

That light show is amazing. I’ve used my 1400 for years without seeing any of that sparking. It’s a good incentive to minimize airborne sawdust.

That was in my mind too - we have our spray shop in the next room  [eek]

If yours doesn't and mine does I wonder if there isn't something to be done to minimize it?
