festool sander sandpaper choices

Have cubitron sanding paper.  Read somewhere this paper does not stay on the pad.  Many said to replace pad.  Is this necessary.  If so what pad should the festool pad be replaced with.  6 inch ros festool sander.  Thank you.

I'm assuming it's the mesh discs you're talking about? If so you need an interface pad under it to stop the sander pad getting ruined. They come in a pack of 2, and are 2-3mm thick.

Interface pads are the thick ones for doing contour sanding. It's a protection pad that's needed for any of the net sandpapers.

As you mentioned the thick ones are for contour sanding, the ones just to protect the sander pad for flat surfaces however are 2-3mm thick. I bought them in a pack of 2 for roughly $25AUD.
