Here's a link to Festool's Spring Promotions.  http://www.bobmarinosbesttools.com

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending Festool's "Roadshow" in Providence, RI.  All the new tools and accessories (T-Handle Lithium Ion drills, EHL 65 Planer, Kapex Extensions, Parallel Guide).
All the dealers, including myself were extremely impressed and  customers will not be disappointed.
The T drills will now come a new/modified Systainer # 2 with a semitransparent lid and storage trays underneath the lid.
However, there is  a delay in the  planer's release date - UL has approved it, but Festool is awaiting the UL Certificate.

Bob, the new systainer sounds interesting.  But, I can't find a picture of it on either your web site or the Festool USA web site.  Can you point me to a place where there is a picture?

  Frank,

There  is nothing now, but I dould have something later today. It is very interesting; very usefull for storing bits and the also have the lift out inserts in the body of the systainer - job well done Festool!

Not trying to hijack Bob's thread but...

The launch of the T+3 cordless drill micro website will be announced in the SysNotes which is due for release tomorrow.  Since there is an interest in the systainer, here is a link to the micro site where you can find photos, including an image of the systainer.  Just a note, there is also a storage compartment under the drill itself.  Here a link to the image of the systainer and drill set:

You can also see the systainer in the video showing the FastFix chuck system:

No Hijack here Shane; I was having difficulty posting.

Thanks,

Bob

Another thing about the T +3 Drills, is you also get a free SYS 1 Box from some dealers. This is a special promotion and is only good while supplies last, or until the end of July, which ever comes first.

Tom,

Correct, the free systainer offer was in original post - but for clarification here it is again.

'Sorry, Bob.

I should have checked the link. There was so much talk about the Systainer that comes with the drill normally I thought the SYS Box was being overlooked.

Tom

Tom, I wasn't ignoring the systainer with the plastic boxes deal, but those are old hat (and I already have two of them), whereas the sytainer that the drill comes in is something new and, therefore, much more interesting.

I'm not a big systainer guy.  The only one I really use is the one that my TDK came in.  I load the area where the charger was with bits, tools, and hardware whenever I'm doing odd jobs around the house.  I've actually been kicking around the idea of making one of the custom inserts for my ETS systainer that will hold my drill and its accessories.  That new thing looks pretty interesting.  If anyone winds up with one they don't want, let me know.

Jay

Jay, we'll have them here at the show tomorrow.  I'll check it out and let you know how cool it really is....let's hope it actually is.  Seems it!

From the video, it's hard to tell if there's also a space for the screw gun chuck. I know hte later C12 inserts had enough space to fit it in front of the drill, but it's not clear if there's room for it in the new arrangement.

A new T-handle drill is so tempting, but I already have an 18V dewalt XRP, 2 C12's, and a 14.4 Makita impact driver...

A free sys 1 sort, you say...

You know, if I didn't already have the parallel guides and the edge trimming stuff on my short list, I'd really think about this thing. But that's $1000+ worth of kit...

James:

If you're talking about the depth-stop chuck. There is enough space though it's different in that the liner isn't going to hug it like it did in the old ones.

This one is designed to have the depth-stop chuck sitting in a cavity next to the right-angle and eccentric chucks, underneath the battery charger. The arrangement actually works out better than the old sys for the C12 or TDK.

Hi, Bob.  Maybe my reading comprehension is worse today than usual, but I didn't seem to see (here or on your website or Festool's) the date the Spring Promo ends.  Thanks in advance.

John

Hi John,

The promo for the Drills ends July 31, the Planer promo ends 3 months after they are for sale ;) ??? ;). All other accessory promos (Boom arms, blades, etc.) ends June 30.
