Hi just wondering if anyone has come across a problem with the Cleantex SRM 45 e dust extractor. I have changed bags and cleaned filters but the Vacuum will run for only fifteen to twenty seconds before the filter alarm goes off. Is there any way of disconnecting the alarm? It seems as though the suction is fine and I have checked hoses/inlet/filter etc for blockage and can find none. I have tried using my Kapex 120, Sander and domino and it is the same with all tools. Please help... cheers, Ben.

Hi Ben,

Welcome to the FOG!  [smile]

We don't have that feature on any of the vacs available in the North America but there are plenty of international members  and dealers on FOG so I think someone will chime in with some help.

Seth

Cheers Seth - it would be good to hear if anyone has had the same issue... Thanks again for the welcome... Ben.

Would be interesting to see how much response this gets. I don't think there are many members here who have the SRM 45 E vac. Or even an M type vac. Just a few.

Sorry I can't offer any help, never seen an M vac. You checked the obvious things already. Is it possible to access the sensor to see if that is in any way dirty?

Yes, i had exactly the same problem. I opened it up and removed the wire that activated the alarm. Solved the problem, but I don't know if you could get into trouble if you had an employee using it with dangerous dust. I am the only one who uses mine. I have been using it with a chop saw for the last year or so so I also disconnected the auto filter cleaning as I use it with a regular bag.
You should maybe consider getting it looked at by Festool though.

Hi Richard can you point me in the right direction in how to disconnect the alarm? I won't get into trouble as it's my own shop vacuum. I have had it looked at by Festool and they said they had fixed it only to have the problem return after half an hours use... Cheers for your reply, Ben.
