Festool "Super Sander" SS1100 - never seen this before

Looks like an aftermarket accessory to me. Don't think it is original Festool design. For instance, I don't think Festool would use an English word like 'Sander' on one of their products.

A rare gem though. But not sure the contraption is really needed. Maybe useful to save your back and knees when sanding the floor.

thats odd,.
iv never seen anything about that before,
what advantage are the wheels. can you put a handle on that flat plate and use it standing up maybe

Thanks for the link to that flyer.  I have to say - this is strange.  Festool AU marketing an aftermarket accessory added to a Festool product and then the whole package gets the warranty.

That is both interesting and wacky  ???  [huh]

Perhaps strap one to each foot and have a wild ride  [eek]  [big grin]

Seems like it is well enough done to have a genuine purpose though.

Looks similar to a kit that US sander makes for there makita stair edger.  Nice retrofit.  That's a home mader I believe.  Good job too.

It's coming from www.idealtools.com.au, so it looks like Ideal Tools is remarketing the Festool sander with their own add-on device.

I searched this product (SS1100) a few years back.  It was unique to Australia and maybe Ideal Tools.  The sander was portrayed as a ceiling sander.  It was also part of a package that once an AUS government endorsed vocational program was completed the graduate was given by grant, tax credit or some means this package or a percentage of the package to enable him/her to get started in the learned trade.  Note: If you look closely at the brochure you'll see it is called a ETS 150/5 but in the specs it has a 3mm pattern.  Both the 150/3 and 150/5 would work.

I'm not familiar with it, but here's the ride-on model, Seth.  [popcorn]

...... and then we wonder why it is so hard to get UL approval  [poke] [laughing]

wow . that sander has got some power. my sander bogs down when using normally.

I can tell you why it didn't get UL approval Harry, no included seat belt.  [tongue]

Funny....but not really unsafe.  Glad its not someone working for me as that sander is costly!
