As interesting as it may seem to have tools share batteries - in a Festool setting I can hardly see the big advantage. Each tool comes in it's own systainer, and sports two batteries. You only need one of the chargers, for they're universal ( and THAT'S handy ). And in some cases it might even be worth it to leave one of the chargers at home, you'll have more room for bitsets/and/or sawblades or other utensils.
But I have never drained a battery in less then the time it takes to charge the other one. So in effect each systainer carries it's own self-sufficient powerplant and there would seldom be the need to swap batteries between tools.
IMHO it's wise to  buy the tool that you think will perform best for you, regardless of battery type.
In fact I chose the T15+3 while I was already envisioning a Protool Duradrive with the 12+3 battery in my future. I frequently use holesaws and the extra power vs. the T12+3 was of more importance to me. If the T18+3 had been available, I might have opted for that one.

Regards,

Job

With Circular saw and jigsaw you can easily drain a battery before the other is charges trust me I can drain 3 before one is charged you would properly say I should get a corded out but hey being lazy!  Any way I do agree with the drill though I do not drain the battery on the drill before the other is charged I have yet to try out my carvex with the battery because the UK still hasnt got them and I have paid full money like a month ago so I have been out of pocket for no reason could of had some interest on that!

even so the festool batteries seem to charge pretty fast compared to other brands

I dont think I agree with the Charging festool isn't that fast but they do last along time much longer than any battery brand I have used (Bosch, Milwueakee, Ryobi, Makita, Dewalt).BUT! I think its also because of the drill why the batterie lasts alot longer because it  a brushless moter and instead of being just a standard trigger it has a chip inside to regulate the current and it doenst spark when you make connection or whatever its alot more efficient so the batterie lasts longer.

Well Im going to do a test with the M18 milwueakee and Festool T15 batteries!!! ill time them

Hi Yuri,
Ah, sorry for that mistake. I have a colleague from Ukraine, but she hardly reads anything Festool ;)
BTT: Anyway, in Denmark it's announced for 1'st of July, and prices, specs etc, are on certain dealers homepage, as shown on top of this thread.
If translation into English is needed, please feel free to say so.
But as far as torque goes, it's just a bit more than the T15+3, and maybe not worth swapping over to, as I just jumped from TDK12 to T15+3 this spring.
I will for sure though, pop down to my local dealer, and try it out asap.
Right now, I'm looking at a used, but as new TS55EBQ to cut alot of floor planks and kitchen table top, cabinets etc. But maybe I'll go for a new one, if it doesn't look like new. I know, I'm pathetic about my tools, but keeping them as new, saves me ?money and frustration over time. And I can anytime pop the box and enjoy a nice clean tool. 'Nuff said ;)
I'll report back when possible about the T18+3.

Cheers,
Jacques.

u know whats funny? not a SINGLE word on any of the german sites...festool keeps quiet about those over here.
as i dont own a festool drill yet, i think i will get one of these by the end of the year since i often use my drills for other than woodworking stuff and i guess it will be as accurate in terms of torque shut down as the the t15...

I wonder if we can some how get the belt hook as a spare part and fix it to the T15 drill

I hate the fact the T15 hasnt got a belt clip  that why I often rather get my Milwueake M18 impact drill because it saves be bending down all the time. I hate drill pouches before any one mentions it

There are brackets molded in the bottom of the battery that the metal belt clip attaches to.  So, it's not likely going to be something easy to swap out.

Well isnt the battery the same shape on the bottom so you could remove the bottom section and replace it with the belt clip one?!?!

Also what confuses me is the people on the thread say the C15 and T15 batteries work on the carvex so wont the C15 batteries work on the T15 because doenst the C15 have a belt clip?!?!

I don't know how easily the batteries come apart to swap out the parts.  I think you've probably right the C15 batteries should work in the T15 drills.

That would be a logical asumption, and they might have made a new mould for the C15 battery lower part.
Maybe someone, when they finally get here, will find a smart way to overcome that, so we can get the clips on. Maybe it's not that hard. Let's see (sometime......)

Cheers,
Jacques.

They did indeed. I thoroughly checked the new tools out at the dealer and the new batteries have a different bottom. If you check the Ekat you can also see they have different part numbers.

Duct tape?  [cool]

Ooops, posted in the worng place, so here it comes:
Here's a few pics I snapped from the net.

I think I would have coundersunk the clip into the lower battery part, instead of three feet.

Cheers,
Jacques  ;)
