Festool, Tanos, ToolTechnic relationships

Can someone explain the relationship(s) between ToolTechnic, Festool, Tansos and any other associated companies? Is ToolTechnic a holding company for other brands? Was Tanos developed directly as a product line for Festool? I am just curious about the history and how the different companies overlap product lines and relationships.

And I am going down the slippery slope of becoming a Tanos fanboy and switching out all of my containers.
