Hi everyone

Today I went past a Festool reseller and found The Festool Tool-clip hanging on display. I guess this item has been around for a while but it's new to me. I couldn't resist so I spent the $28 for it. Just thought I would share a few pics and applications. Part no. 494776

The pack consists of one belt-clip, three tool-straps and one ladder-clip.

I think it's about six or seven years ago that festool sold this as a temporary item.  It's a re-branded Bigg Lugg.  I have a couple of them and use them a lot, it works great.  It works best if you have the ball off center.  If you wear the clip on you're right side, then offset the ball on the tool to the left.  Much easier to"hook" the tool in place.  But I see you already did this on the last picture of the C12.

ps: I think it works best when you are "stationary", that is standing on a ladder, need to position a workpiece with two hand, hold with one, and grab the tool.  Walking around works but tools, especially bigger ones (for instance SDS 18v drill), bounce a lot.

Ok, that explaines why the box was quite dusty.  [smile] I had to move the ball a bit to be able to fit the tools in the systainer with the clip still on. I really like the ladder-clip, it saves you from bringing the tool up and down the ladder which is the case with just a belt-clip or hook on the tool. The Festool rep. said that all new drills come with a hook but I like this idea with a strap for sanders and other tools.

In the UK you can buy the Ladder Lugg or the Bigg Lugg 1 or 2, 1 works better and was the original hook type with a squeezable aluminium hook. the more recent version of 1 has avery ridgid hook.

I got the bigg lug ones didnt want the festool branded ones because they where triple the price just to have festool logo on them.

Not to fond of them because I don't like the ball end sticking out on my drill looks   g a y,    can't get it where I want it positioned most the time. [tongue] plus I often got it caught on something.

I like the strap version they have, not seen that one before seems a better way to attach to your tool than a bungee strap.

JMB try the Bigg Lugg 1, if you can't find one, let me know, I have a few.

Bigg lug 1. I thought I had the 1.  Just looked on the site mine is lugg 2 but I can't see the 1

By "g a y" do you mean your drill looks to (sic) "happy," or are you just being derogatory?

As in I don't like the look of the big lugg on my drill.

I have been using biglugs for years. Have one on my drill and most of my finish guns. And honestly, I don't care how silly it may or may not look. It is cheap, simple, effective and most importantly efficient! It's a real drag when you are standing up on something only to discover that you need both hands and have no place to set your tool and recover it quickly.

I wish they made the belt clip a little differently somehow though. Often times when I set my toolbelt down it pops off.

Well worth the Borg price, and IIRC the festool price is not that bad considering it come with the ladder hoor as well. I have never seen a belt & ladder hook in the same set @ the Borg.

Got to say I don't like the bungee and ball version but the original worked well, it did have a tendancy to spring off your belt if it got caught though. JMB, you're too fussy! ;)
