Bit of an odd one, but I guess they did bring out that apron a while ago:

Anyone know who makes this? I'm assuming they've rebranded someone elses belt, rather than designing and manufacturing their own.

and surely if they'd designed it themselves they'd have tried to make the drill holster work with C handle drills...

And while we're on the subject of strange fan merchandise... Festool shoe covers anyone?:

Some dealers here in the UK have started selling the tool belt. For a premium quality brand... it looks less than impressive IMHO: it doesn't look like it'll last very long and has very limited options / capacity for what you can carry.

Diamondback, the mountaineering equipment manufacturer, has a toolbelt and it reminds me of this one.  Not the same but exceptional quality.

The Bottom Line

The Diamondback Toolbelts Denali and Deluxe Suspenders Rig is for tradesmen who need a lot of tools close at hand and don’t mind carrying a little extra weight if it means they can be organized and efficient on the job. Trim carpenters, framers, and roofers come to mind, but that’s certainly not an exhaustive list. The modular nature allows you to tailor it to specific trades. It might not be for a beginner or apprentice but then again, the customizable design means an apprentice could start small and add to the rig as he or she gains experience and skill. DiamondBack even has a pouch for delicate things like your phone and glasses.

+1 for Diamondback. I bought a load of the Makita stuff but never got on with it. Having to slide the belt out to change pouches around was a pain and there weren't enough small tool holders or they were bottomless and things would fall through.

I wish I'd just gone straight to Diamondback as their system is way better thought out. You can swap out pouches as they (very securely) attach to the belt via a clever velcro based mechanism, they don't slide around either and the buckle is quick and easy to get on and off. The range of pouches for all different sizes is great too along with the multitude of smaller accessory pouches that clip on and off.

I quite like the look of the diamondback stuff - or I did until I saw the price of them over here in the UK... £130 for the belt... £100 for a pouch.

But I would imagine the odds are that Festool has partnered with a German company for their belt. Or, it’s just a cheap no-name manufacturer.

I doubt it is a Diamond Belt.  Manufactured in Vietnam.  Not trashing the Festool belt for that, but as far as I know the D belts are manufactured in the US.

I have an Atlas46 tool apron.  It is very well made and has lots of available accessories.  Pricey stuff but anyone here shouldn't be surprised.
