Festool truth

You need marriage math.... new tool = new jewelry...  simple...

What she doesn't know won't hurt her, or you need to find a hiding place for the new tools, until they have been used enough to blend in with the old.

until she installs a metal detector at the door...  then it get's pretty hard to hide tools...  Around here, she looks for amazon boxes....

Same here , I just make Sure I get home first! [big grin]

Wife walks out into the shop, sees my domino, Hey honny when did you get that, I respond, Oh I had it for a while, Ok says the wife.

A month later, wife walks out into the shop bringing out a sammich, see my ten ten on top of the MFT, Hey honny when did you get that?

Oh I says Ive had that for a long time..

I hope she doesnt notice my nose growing…..

==> Oh I had it for a while, Ok says the wife.

i've tried that... doesn't work around here.  she is just too observant...

I though I was being really clever till my wife did the end of year financials ... $35K on tools from one particular shop kinda got me in a little trouble with her. The wall of T-Locs looks very obvious to her now ...

... maybe I nee to go 2 deep [big grin]

I just tell my wife to expect a delivery, when, what and how much. She has always known, my tools pay for everything she has.
Be it from Snap-On or Festool, there is no differance.

There comes a time my friends, when you survive collecting enough systainers that it becomes hard to notice a couple more or less. Until then hang on!

I just purchased and installed a bedside in my truck a few months back.  As we were leaving  Pottery Barn I was loading up a chair in the bed of my truck..."honey, when did you get that?"  Oh, that's been there at least six months...she is actually pretty understanding, tools make me money, money buys her stuff.

I actually have to answer to my father also, being that he is my business partner [scared]

I sometimes feel guilty when buying a new tool (whatever color it is) because of him bringing me up in his school of thought...use a tool until it dies, then buy the least expensive tool you can to do the job. I am of the other school of thought...whatever the cost, if I can buy a tool that saves me time and improves the quality of product then it is worth every penny.

He surprised the hell out of me last week by agreeing that the new Festools in my truck are raising the bar AND making us money!

My wife just thinks they are boxes for keeping my tools in. Took more explaining for the kapex and cms though.

I will give you the same advice I give all the foster children we have...

There are plenty of fish in sea.  I would advise shopping for a wife at Highland Woodworking..

My wife appreciates the houseful of furniture and cabinets and as an accountant, she knows how to amortize the cost over time for a decent payback.  I make sure that her "to do" list doesn't get too long and even she noticed the project time improvement using Festool Tools!
