My  TS 55  ebq  stopped midway  through a  cut  today.
Have  removed  the  switch  cover  and  electricity  is arriving  at  the  switch  and  passing  through  the  other  side  when  the  trrigger  is  operated.
The  brushes  look  to have  about  8  or  10mm  left.

Any  other  ideas? [smile] Or  checks  I could  do myself?
Before  I  send  it  away.

If the cable isn't broken, maybe the thermal protection kicked in.
If that happens on mine, if I try the trigger afterwards it runs but with little power en slower, if I then let it run with no load, it cools down fairly quickly and I can continue sawing.
If you just leave it, or try to saw straight away, the thermal protection will stop it completely, and usually won't start untill the next day.

Power  is  leaving  the  switch  outlet  side  when  the trigger  is  pressed  so  its  not a  cable  issue.
And I've  already  tried  a  separate  plug  it  cord.  And  used  the  ts  55  cord  in another  machine  and  no problems.

Also  not  an  over  heating  issue  as  the  saw  was  just  started  up  cutting a  few  feet  of  light  10mm  osb.
My  ts  55  has  locked  out on thermal  over  load to  a lower  RPM  a  few  times  and  I just  stop  the  machine  for  15  minutes  or  so  and  its  back  online  again.
Where upon  I usually change  the  blade.

This  is  the  first  failure  in  the  20  years  I've  had  this  saw.

It could be the brushes as some Festools have a kind of auto shut off when the brushes reach a certain amount of wear.

Peter Millard had the same problem
