Hi Everyone

I first looked at this saw at Festool's Roadshow visit to Yeovil last year and wanted to take a closer look. Everything seemed to conspire against me getting hold of one and so it sat on the back burner. I had originally wanted to take it to a building site but that house is now almost ready for the happy new owners.

I finally managed to borrow one from Festool UK and have been playing with it for a couple of weeks. To my surprise it was happy to run on an old 15v battery but really came to life with a pair of 18 v batteries.

Having seen a recent post from someone asking if he should go mains powered TS55R or cordless TSC55 I would suggest that it is silly to be seduced by a neat battery powered machine if you do all your work in a workshop or close to power. That said, the TSC 55 is a delight to use, slightly heavier than the TS55R and every bit a workhorse suited to anyone having to work off site and where mains power is a challenge.

Here is the link:

PS - Phil has sent me the email asking for it back !

Just happened to be poking around on YouTube and saw you posted this earlier and gave it a watch. Another solid video, Peter. Kudos!

I do wish it was a single charger that could simultaneously charge multiple batteries. Hopefully that's a future product addition as Festool grows its cordless range.  [wink]

Just because I LOVE to poke the bear, an ancient Craftsman cordless set I had would do two batteries at once... :-P

Hi
Thanks for posting Peter and sorry to ask for this to come back  [sad]. When the TSC was first released I bought one and now it gets used way more than the corded version in my workshop.
Cool sound track as well - similar to some SKA bands I used to listen to in Coventry in the early eighties  [big grin]

Milwaukee makes what they call a 3-bay charger that charges 3 batteries at the same time. It would be nice for Festool to make a 3-bay charger that would charge 2 each 12/15/18 volt batteries and a single CXS battery. [cool]

I'm a really happy owner of the TSC 55. With the 5.2 amp batteries I get plenty of cuts with it.

I'm not interested in a three bay charger, as the batteries being the size they are would make it into a needlessly large and bulky package..

Oops now I see this is the TSC 55 it's the HKC 55 that I own! I might get the TSC 55 basic at some point....

I am not sure if I should announce this in public - it is a bit like putting yourself in the stocks and inviting people to throw rotten fruit at you....

I have just bought a keyboard to replace the electronic piano that I gave to my piano playing daughter 4 years ago. I am a rubbish keyboard player and so I have bought one that does most of the twiddley bits at a touch of a button. That bit of "music" was a Rock Around the Clock clone that I used to play on the old machine.

Cheers.
