Festool UK Autumn Promotion

Just got back from meeting the Festool rep at my local dealer, and he had news of the UK Autumn promotion.

Apparently, Audi have now changed over their production to use Rotex RO150's to polish all their cars. To celebrate this, Audi & Festool have commissioned a REALLY cool R/C Audi sports car, in silver with the Festool logo on it. It features a tip-tronic speed control, working indicators, headlights, and breaklights, and has some sound fx too.

It's going to be available with tool purchases, either FOC or for ?20, depending on the value of the tool. It will be available next year for audi customers too, but they'll have to pay ?50 for it (on top of the ?80k for the full-sized car!).

Are you pulling the legs of us Yanks?  BMW and M-B are going to have to scream unfair or up their games, too.  The paint on my 2000 Audi A6 (and other Audis at that time) was already better (fully buffed out without any orange peel) when delivered than their competitors.  Actually, it sounds like a smart decision.

Apparently ALL the European manufacturer's now specify Festool for the finishing departments. Audi was the last one...
