Just curious - but does anyone do this? Or am I crazy to think this is an option :)
... in other words, I am thinking of ways to further convince the wife on a CT Midi...  ;D

Also, what attachments have you found work best on hardwood vs. carpet?

And lastly, would animal hair be something to avoid intermixing with the vac at all or does it even matter?

Thanks :)

We use a CT MINI with the Universal Cleaning Kit plus the Turbo Suction Brush for the carpet.

Unfortunately, my little buddy, Muddy, is now chasing squirrels in the sky but when he was still around, there was a lot of his hair everywhere. Between him and my wife, it was quite a lot. The beater bar on the Turbo Suction Brush eventually gets hair all wrapped onto it. I just cut it off periodically.

With a dog, the odor builds up in the bag to an unbearable stench before the bag is full, even in a MINI.

As I posted at the time, CT22 shut down last year and needed new bushes. Meantime I needed a vac/DE so we got a Midi. Now the fixed CT 22 is the shop vac/DE and the Midi is the house vac, both for cleaning and Festool activities as we work towards house completion.   [smile]

Our dog is more an outdoor companion, but does come in at night/hot days till bed time. He has short hair, so my experiences are different to those of Tom.

In September 2005 I had no intention of retiring as a movie studio executive. I had been a widower since 1989. Then I was living in a nice condo in Hollywood. The cleaning lady complained that my 1980-vintage upright vacuum cleaner was no longer sucking up dirt. So I bought what I assumed would be my final, ultimate vacuum cleaner. At the time it was the top of the Miele line.

Plans change. In January 2006 I began to consider retirement. I had some ideas about woodworking products I felt would improve my own enjoyment of entertainment media in my home. The more I thought and started sketching my ideas, I began to think those products could be sold at a profit.

That was the time for my annual vacation. I still had some tools left from a cabinet business I owned from 1959 until 1994, but I had sold that building and all the big machines. I considered leasing about 2,500 square feet in a commercial building as a shop where I could experiment with my designs. I assumed I would need a cabinet size slider table saw, so I went to a dealer I had trusted for years.

He suggested I consider a Festool TS55 with guide rails and dust extractor, so I could work in a smaller space. I bought the TS55 and CT22 as a combo deal, along with a cleaning set which included a 36mm AS hose.

Soon I discovered the Festool Turbo Brush worked as well as my Miele and made less noise. So that CT22 became my favorite home vacuum cleaner and still is. I gave my Miele to my youngest son as a wedding present.

What timing! I just finished vacuuming the dog hair off the sofa and webs off the beams on the ceiling with my midi. That ing a quick break and decided to check the FOG and this came up. I do have a dyson but it's a pain doing some chores with it.

Just finished dusting with my CT26E and the plastic universal brush nozzle, part # 498527. Brush nozzle is also used to remove fine dust before finishing. Works great. Wish I had my midi though as the CT26 is a little heavy.
