Festool Vac clamp system

I just used it today to domino some boards for a table top I'm making:

It's an awesome tool. The key to getting the most out of it is setting it up somewhere you don't have to fiddle with it to use it.
This has been my experience also.  I've had the VAC-SYS for a while but only recently got it set up for convenient use, already I am using a more than when I had to dig it out and set it up for each use.

Before I built the dedicated cart I found the vac sys to just be awkward. Foot pedal moved on me when trying to use it, my material would hit something else in my shop if I tried to swivel or rotate, etc. Now I can clamp something, wheel the project around if I need to, all the heads are stored nicely in the middle drawer. I keep it plugged in so all I have to do is turn it on to use it. Instead of finding a workaround to not needing to set it up I now look for ways to use it instead of other options.

Thank you all for your insight with this tool.  Working with the Domino was a PITA, with all the clamping and moving the clamp because the plate would hit it on the other side.......etc.  The pain of the purchase went away when I saw how robust it was, and how easy it was to manuver for sanding and Domino's.

Thank you to [member=11629]GarryMartin[/member] for the mounting plate bracket plans.  It worked perfectly.

I'm sure someone else has done this, but I had finally figured out what to do with the foot pedal.  It fits perfectly behind the mount that I built for it, and is up out of the way.
