Hello FOG members.

I am interested in the Vac Sys System, couple of questions. The system appears to be completely different from one side of the pond to the other. In the UK the Vacuum pump appears to be in an original style systainer, where as in the US the pump is a stand alone unit.

Can you get the stand alone unit in UK voltage and 50HZ? I like the idea of it being in a systainer but would rather it in a T-loc that way I can decide where to put it in stack of systainers (as I only currently own t-loc, so would have to be at the bottom)

Is there any talk about it being updated to the t-loc style?

Cheers all

You can't get the US version anywhere outside of the US as far as I know, and there are no plans to change to T-Loc either unfortunately. Even the accessories still come in Classic Systainers and they would be the easiest to change over.

The Vac Pump as it's sold here  does not officially 'fit' in a Systainer when they sell it,but,  actually, quietly, does fit in a Classic Systainer........ [bite tongue] [bite tongue] [bite tongue] [bite tongue] . Just sayin'......

That's interesting...what size Systainer?

You're not....by the way thanks for the Systainer info.  [big grin]

I have an extra Systainer 4 so I'm good to go.  [thumbs up]

We're the 4 emoji's a give away to the Systainer size?

If so you're a sly fox.

Totally missed it.  Not sure why anyone would get in trouble (or even how to get someone in trouble for such a thing).

I think the trouble is if anyone associated with Festool is perceived saying you can RUN your Vac Pump while it's in the Systainer, which I believe, UL did not certify as an option here in the US for Festool . So, that's my concern.  I'm NOT associated with Festool in any way either.... [big grin]
Not a 'real' thing if you think about it with SO MANY people modifying Systainers and mounting all sorts of motorized things in them that could get hot or worse,,, [smile]

I've wondered about that and my Vac Sys, too - maybe put some vents in the back of the unit, or on the sides. Shouldn't be too hard to install something to allow for airflow.

You can always throw in a muffin fan to exhaust the hot air.  [big grin]
