Festool Vac-Sys - VAC PMP

I am in need of the Filter for the Vac-Sys - VAC PMP as ours needs to be replaced. I look up in manual and it says the following:

We recommend changing the air filter [5-1] every
12 months to avoid damage to the pump.
 To replace the air filter [5-1] follow the steps
detailed in the assembly instruction provided
with the spare part.

I just called Festool USA and after giving them my information I am told it's an "accessory" and I they can't sell it to me as I need to be a dealer. It says in the manual "spare part" the part # 496840.

How can this be an accessory ?? Am I missing something ??

I think whoever you spoke to at Festool may have been incorrect. This item is marked in their system (I'm looking right now on their dealer website) as a spare part. This means you can order it directly from FUSA.

That said, I've added the VAC-SYS replacement filter 496840 to our website if you want to order from us.

But, let me give you a better option. It looks like this is a Mann WK 42/2 filter, do a google search and save yourself about $30.  [cool]
