Well, it's that time of year again. Time for Festool Connect which means it's time to have our video contest! Yay!

We've seen hundreds of great videos made by you and your friends over the last few years. This year, we decided to open things up a little and offer a few new video types that are eligible for entry to make it more accessible to everyone. So, in addition to instructional/how-to and testimonial videos, we will also accept shop tours, project-based videos and videos showing organization with Festool in your shop or vehicle.

Great prizes again this year with the grand prize winner getting $1000 (USD) in Festool Bucks toward products of their choosing. Two random winners (so anyone who enters can win regardless of video editing skills) will also be chosen and will receive $750 USD in Festool Bucks. All of the top five finalists, as voted on by Festool employees, will win an 18-volt Cordless Drill. Plus, everyone who makes an eligible video will receive some swag.

Read more on our website or enter your video.

Here are the top give videos from 2014's contest. Good luck to all!

Oh yeah... I'm also cooking up a (non-video) FOG contest as well. So stay tuned.  [popcorn]

I love this time of year...looking forward to seeing the videos!  Kind of like the FOG Oscars....FOGsters...

I just finished recording one have it spliced together and now just need to narrate it.  My skills are not great but it is fun and I think trying to explain something helps me think things through more completely.  It certainly won't be one of those high production value artistic videos but I think it is fairly useful.

Thanks to everyone who has submitted a video so far, and good luck!

Just a reminder that we're getting down to the last week and a little bit to enter.

Everyone gets some swag for entering.

Is it one swag prize per person no matter how many video submissions or for every submission gets a prize?

Yes, one swag package per person.  [wink]

Additional videos raise your chances for winning the random prizes.

Unlike last year, entrants this year do not seem  to be posting their entries on the FOG. Was this not encouraged?

I feel that such posts last year encouraged others to enter, and certainly informed, entertained and enriched the FOG experience at that time.

(I know we will/may soon get a link to a compilation of all the entries.)

Can I submit a video even if it is ineligible for the prizes? I could always do with another hat since my kids nicked my last one?!

I've noticed this as well. I think it could be because last year we had the FOG specific contest, where you had to provide a link in a specific thread. Many of these were then submitted to the main contest I'd bet.

Sorry, but only eligible entries will receive swag. And, I'm not sure if there will be hats included or not.

I believe last year we had a FOG contest at or around the same time period which had it's own set of prizes. That's why you were seeing more of them posted here. As usual, I will try to create a playlist with all of the eligible entries after Connect to share on our YouTube channel for everyone to see.

Tick. Tock.

You have about 50 hours to get your video contest entry submitted. Git 'er done!

Shane

Bump! Today's the deadline, folks! Get those videos posted and submitted before midnight PT!

Good luck to all!

I'm bumping Shane's bump.  Clock is ticking.  Midnight Pacific Time.  Better be editing and uploading.  What do you have to lose?  Great prizes!

Posted mine with a whole hour to spare...

I want to thank everyone who took the time to put together a video for our contest. You've seen some of them posted here and gotten to enjoy them. We'll be posting the rest of them as a YouTube playlist next week so you can see all of the video submissions.

We currently have a team of Festool employees pouring over all of the entries and voting on each of them so we can narrow it down to our top 5 finalists. Those finalist videos will be shown next Thursday at Festool Connect where the attendees and viewers of the live video feed will have a chance to vote for the grand prize winner.

Again, thanks for the videos everyone.
