With the announcement of the new goodies launching December first, we are rescheduling our Demo day and making it a Winter Festool Launch Party. The information below will still take place but we are planning alot more NOW !!!!!! More info to come.

Wish you weren't so far away. I'd come just for the chance to heckle Willy!!!

Willy,
Sorry I couldn't make it.  How did your demos go?

Peter

I was sorry to not see your face there, Peter.  It was a very good day, and a long one.  Kyle, the new Festool area rep was there demoing the Vecturo and the rest of the newly-announced tools.  We had 50 people in attendance.  I spent more time answering questions than doing anything really useful in terms of building an end-product.  The chili was great, even if it was Chris that made it, not Amy.  And for those that have never met Amy, her beautiful megawatt smile would light up half of the DC area.  We're looking at doing more classes built around creating an end-product, like a wall or base cabinet, both designed and constructed on the 32mm system, and built using the TS 55, guide rails, MFTs, routers and the DF 500 Domino.  If you're in the area when we get a schedule established, you're more than welcome to come and stay as long as you can handle.

I too was sorry you couldn't make it, Peter.  I was looking forward to meeting both you and Willy.  As it was, Willy did a great job explaining various Festools to the audience, which included owners and non-owners.  I was glad at least to meet him, but I hope to cross paths with you one of these days.  As much more of a lurker than contributor on the FOG, I owe both of you a lot for all you've done to make this such a great resource.

Glad to hear it went well.  Good luck on development of class ideas.  I have a notebook with ideas that I have been working on for a couple of years when the mood strikes.

I hope to meet Kyle one day.  Ironically I know one of his friends from where he used to work.

Lawhoo,  we'll meet.  Promise.  But I have always said that there are many more experienced and more knowledgeable members here (we are fortunate for that) who love to share what they have learned with others - like Willy. Glean knowledge where you can!

Peter

I stopped by the Woodcraft in Rockville, Md today on my way home from NIH today and can honestly say that I was impressed.  These guys are serious and they do Festool well.

Had my eye on some beautiful wood but didn't pull the trigger even though I will kick myself later for not.

Really cool place to check out if you are in the area like I was.

Peter

I hope you got a chance to meet Matt, Chris and Amy while you were there, Peter.  They're the driving force behind the Woodworkers Club and make it such a great place for serious woodworkers.

[smile]
