With a Kapex, it doesn't matter when you receive the notice, there'll always be an extra one available...not so much with the DF 500/700.

This along with the number of times the saw has come up for sale leads me to believe that FT is less than candid about the number of saws that get sent back to them and or its general popularity.  If they aren't breaking they arent getting sent in. If they are the bees knees they aren't getting 30 day returned.  Meaning there wouldn't be many units for sale and they'd go licking split like the Dominos.

One can pretty much tell from this sale what jewels in the lineup are. 

And the dogs too.
 
If Festool wants to move those Kapex saws and other "dogs" they might consider allowing the $50 voucher to be used....
 
You really think an xtra 50$ incentive is going to move the sales number on those ?  [doh]

I bought 3 items over the past month (sander and two saws) and they charged my local state sales tax (Virginia) correctly BUT I noticed on the third purchase, they tacked on a local county tax for a county that I don't live in.  My local county does not have an additional tax.  I went back to look and the same tax was on the prior two purchases.

I sent them an email over the weekend and they replied on Monday, forwarding it to their tax manager who admitted that it wasn't right and they were going to have customer service work with me to refund over $20 in county taxes.  I haven't heard anything from them since but figured everyone deserves a few days to work things out before I bug them.  I'll reach out to them next week again if I don't hear back, but I am confident I should get a refund.

Thanks for pointing this out.  I was also charged an extra tax for a county that I don't live in.  I had assumed I was being charged because they might have a store in this county or that's where they're shipping from, but now I know that's not the case.  I'm going to email them to request a refund.

I had to follow up with them today.  Tax manager was out of the country last week.  He is very responsive when you get a hold of him.  He told me they'd have to mail me a check vs. doing a refund to my cc.  Fine by me as long as it gets worked out.
 
Yep and by the time you get there they are gone. Lol. It is pointless, unless you’re sitting at your computer all day waiting...
 
This is like trying to buy tickets to your favorite artist on Ticketmaster.com. As soon as the tickets are publicly available, they are immediately sold out.

I was waiting for the CT MIDI and saw it come through yesterday (or the day before). Clicked on the email within 9 minutes of it hitting my inbox, and they were completely sold out.
 
I lucked out yesterday. I had been holding off for an OF1400 and low and behold I checked my phone out yesterday leaving work and BOOM, it was there. I never received an email for it, I just have been checking from time to time when I think about it.

However, I was so excited that I hurried through and placed my order. Unfortunately, I cannot look back and see what exactly I purchased. My order says it is SKU 574342, which from researching is an older version of the router which is fine by me. What I can't seem to find out is what exactly came with it. Nor can I find anywhere when I should expect to see it. It is still in the Unfulfilled status. Do they do 3 day shipping? Snail mail?

@FestoolUSA. I'm not upset, but could you please look at listing everything that is supposed to come with the item in the confirmation email. Or at least have a link somewhere that would show the original listing to see what we purchased?

You did luck out...it's an older metric version and not an imperial version. You will probably see it within 5-7 days.

Thanks. I just about pulled the trigger on a new one at my local dealer a couple of weeks ago until my wife came back to the tool section and said "They have one of those Big Green Eggs you've been wanting for years on sale".

One of those decisions you know you can't go wrong with. Went with the Egg and then lucked out with the recon sale!

All of my Festools are metric so that works just fine for me!

[member=60136]buckeyeguy[/member] If I remember correctly, the webpage said it came in a SYS 4 T-Loc with 1/4" and 5/16" collets, chip catcher, and dust extraction hood.  I remember not seeing a wrench listed, which puzzled me a bit.  But the dust extraction hood for the wrench is a nice trade-off.

The 574342 part number refers to the complete package which should include: metric router, 1/4", 8mm & 1/2"collets, a chip catcher, dust extraction hood, guide rods, U.S. guide bushing adapter, Plug-It power cord and collet wrench all in a SYS 4.

If anything is missing just contact Festool or give Tyler a PM.
 
Kapex back up again. I bet theyve got a lot of those refurbed. They keep popping up.

Uh huh. Does it come with the standard 3 year warranty? And has it been cheaper before from the recon site?
