I clicked on the link in the regular MFT/3 email 6 minutes after I got it.  It was sold out already - anyone catch the price?

IIRC it was 420 or 430 something before sales tax.

darn that sounds like a good price I think.

Yeah if you're in the market for one, definitely.  Not exactly a tool where the shortened warranty is a real problem.  Of course, that assumes the top is in acceptable condition.

I wouldn't really care what the top looked like since I have the Parf Guide System and could make a new top if it was in really bad shape.  I know the Parf Guide System can basically replace an MFT, but I still kinda wanted one because of the guide rail, supports, and fence rail.

The link from the email still shows the price, MFT/3,  $513.75.

Oh yeah, sure enough - I only saw that it was sold out - had a sad face and then closed the browser.  I suspect that they didn't have very many available for resale.

I couldn't even get though checkout without either one of the MFT's being sold out.  Wow.  There must only be a handful of these available.  Obviously not large quantities.  Congrats to those who got them.

Given the various states of condition people have received their recon tools...what would be an acceptable state of the top on a MFT??

My opinion is that for a recon MFT top, one "perfect" side and one used side (with some kerfs) would be reasonable.

I'm pretty sure there's only one of each that was available .

I'm not sure I'm remembering this correctly but I believe past recon sales the MFT's got a new top.

I would think so Brice.  Personally I think this is a pretty good sale. I picked up a 150ES sander for a pretty good price. Got it , and it was in new condition. Counldnt tell it was used/

Yea I would of liked to get another MFT3 but i have 3 already and a extra top. I would like to get a Kapex MFT 3 , I have one athat I set my Kapex on. Im thinking I can build a stand for it and use the mini MFT for something else.

So i need to pickup my delivery of my recon OF1400, and I just purchased the Rotex 125 from the recon. What should I make sure to investigate on both of them when I receive them. I'm getting a little worried after hearing mixed reviews of the recon tools. When I hear recon, i assume that Festool actually takes the tools and verify that functionality is perfect, blemishes are to be expected, but i would assume that they make sure they work perfectly.

The recons can be anything from a tool that was abused nd turned in before the 30 day trial is over to someone who just tried out a tool and didnt like it and returned it. I bought a 150 ES 3 and it looked like brand new.

So with that being said, You cant go by apprearances as some may have scuff marks on them while others will look brand new. Im pretty sure FT goes through the tools and make sure they operate according to specs. So thats what I would look for when my recons arrive.

They got this 564597, Festool PDC 18/4 QuaDrive Cordless Drill SET on the recon for $484.88 ,when you can buy it new for $420.00 .

At this point I wonder if they are just putting up tools as they come in and are reconditioned, almost selling one or maybe two at a time?

Or are they just breaking up the inventory for a particular model (D500 comes to mind) in order to give interested people more chances?

I need to go wonder about more important things...

I bought a Vac Sys at about 50% off.
I'll be more accepting of visible signs of use than I would if the tool was only 25% off.
(Although at that discount, reduced warranty, and the sales tax added on I probably wouldn't buy...)

Took delivery today and was very pleased (and surprised) to find no sign of prior use. Looks new to me...

Same for me Michael.  Manufacturing Date is 01-2016 but there not a scuff on it 😀!  It looks like we lucked out.

Funny... [not worthy]

I've pretty much done just that, haven't refreshed the recon website in 3 days.

I get the emails, but when I do the math, after Tennessee sales tax (just shy of 10%), I would rather just pay full price for the full 3 year warranty, and the right to return the product for 30 days.
