Festool's New TCL3 Charger . . . . issues?

Hello ALL.

I have noticed that the charger that came with my 18v PDC Drill has a bit of an issue.  When the battery is on charge a slight knock to the unit most always results in the Flashing Green light turning to Red and the charging stops. Until the battery is removed and replaced.

I use the charger lying on a shelf and when I say a "slight knock", I mean just sliding it back to the wall will result in this.

I could cope with this in my workshop, but last week on a job with other carpenters. .  when ever I returned to the collective "charging station" I found my charger had received one of these light knocks and stopped charging.

Before I call up Festool in a week or so, I wanted to see if any other users have experienced this.

Thanks.

I hope this doesn't come across the wrong way, like you don't know what you're doing, but...

Make sure the battery is fully seated. It can feel like there's a little resistance before you get it all the way on the charger. I actually slide my batteries on with some gusto, not quite slamming them on but with a little muscle.

I would make sure the battery is firmly seated in the charger and locked into position.

Thanks guys!

Shane and Co were right. While I felt I was pushing the battery in sufficiently, there was more of a 'click' than I had previously realised. All seems good now.

Thank you FOG.

What I noticed last night charging my PDC battery was that the new charger was quite hot to the touch after recharging.

I compared it to my CXS charger that was running next to the TCL3 and it felt pretty much room temperature and did wonder does the TCL3 run higher amperage to 18V batteries to explain the heating.
