I'm trying to track down the part number 493235 mentioned in Jerry Work's guide to the MFS, and Ned Young's notes on the MFS, and...

How about making the web site search do independent words rather than phrases? It wouldn't have helped me find the particular product I'm looking for, but if I type in "MFT connector" I should get  part #484455, and not have to type in "MFT table connector" to get there.

Thanks!

Dan,

Thanks for the suggestion regarding the search. I will forward it to our IT manager.

Regarding part number 493235: This is a spare part. Spare parts are not in the online catalog on our page. They can be found in the online spare parts catalog. This catalog is hosted on a server in Germany and does not have a link to the online catalog on our page.

Here is a link to the page with the spare parts catalog:

And here is a direct link to 493235 in the spare parts catalog:

Spare parts have to be ordered directly from our service department. Please call

Hope this helps.

Christian

Christian,
Thanks for the link to the Festool spare parts site.

I think this might useful to members.  It also got me thinking more generally about possible links like this, so I decided to create an area in the group for "quick links," where members can direct access to Festool information that might be difficult to find elsewhere.

I placed the "quick links" section inside the "FESTOOL CONNECTIONS" board.  (Oh, by the way, this is a renaming of what used to be called "CONTACT FESTOOL").

If anyone has other suggestions for the "quick links" let me know.

Also welcomed are suggestions from support, customer service, or sales people at Festool.

Thanks again!

Christian,

Out of curiosity, I took a look...  That's a VERY nice catalog.

Most of the catalogs of this type are almost unusable.  Many poorly-designed catalogs are merely scanned copies of a paper version.  It is very difficult to nearly impossible to cross-reference the parts list to a poorly scanned parts drawing.

By contrast, yours is exceptionally useful.  When click on a numbered green part icon in the drawing, it turns red and then the part in the list of parts below is highlighted.  Conversely, if you click on a part in the parts list, the row in the parts list is highlighted and the part icon in the drawing turns red.  It is VERY easy to cross reference the drawing and the list.

Congrats on another great (reference) tool!

Dan.

P.s. please give the IT guy (girl?) who designed this a pat on the back.

Matthew,

Excellent!  I expect that Quick Links will grow pretty fast.
