I just bought the Festool Carvex and it's my first purchase of their tools so when I set it up and pressed the power button and only the lights clicked on for a second and the motor made a click like it would start and didn't I started to look for the solution but haven't figured it out. Is there something I'm overlooking? Please help, I'm in the middle of a rocking horse for my daughter for Christmas and this is the last thing I need. I made sure the outlet was working and all of my other tools work but the Carvex only powers on the light and then clicks off. The blade doesn't move up and down at all just cuts off.

Doesn't sound promising... Did you get the cord connected with a solid quarter twist? Have you tried each of the switches? I don't think it's the cause, but make sure the blade isn't pinched in the carbide guides.

As far as I can tell power is secure at the chord. I'll re check the blade at the teeth to make sure, but even with the blade out it won't do anything

I bought the cordless version of this jigsaw a couple of months ago coz my previous Millwaukee jigsaw packed up right in the middle of a job so I decided to drive 20 miles to my nearest Festool dealer and he had the Festool in stock. When I got back to the job I fitted a fully charged battery in it and ....Nothing...!! I had exactly the same problem as you appear to be having....!!!!

No matter what I tried, i could not get it to run. I even tried phoning a mate of mine who I knew had exactly the same jigsaw, just to make sure I had done everything correctly but he said I had, so I had no choice but to jump back in the van and drive back the 20 miles to the dealer. When I got there, he tried it with batteries from another tool and....Nothing...!!!

It was a mystery, so he just swopped the complete tool for another one that he had in stock, thankfully.

I'm afraid I cant shed any light on why it wouldnt work, but the replacement has been working fine for 3 months.

I dont know what it is, but when i took it back to the store i bought it from the guy plugged it in and still nothing.  They didnt have one in stock so he let me take home the demo unit to use until my replacement comes in.

I will say this...when i got back to my shop this afternoon with it, my mind was BLOWN!!! such a great piece of equiptment that was in my opinion worth the struggle and frustration of the lemon i got at first.  I was so let down at first and thought to myself, these are supposed to be the top of chart tools and doesnt work! but I took those thoughts back when i used it today on my rocking horse project.

Hope your story is similar in that you are satisfied with the one you get that works!

I had a battery Carvex that was dead on arrival a couple years back. The replacement is still going strong after much abuse.
