Few different tools, few different questions

I have a few questions.

I thought all plug it cords were the same.  Today I was using my RO90 and ETS 150/3 and the cords are interchangeable, but when I went to use my TS55 it needs a different cord.

When using my sanders, sometimes they would skip around, sometimes it felt like it would grabs the workpiece and goes smoothly.  I tried adjusting the speed on my sander and the suction on my CT26, are there any guidelines to what speed/ suction level should be?  Or does anyone have a good rule of thumb they can share.

The more I use all my tools the more satisfied I am.

The plug it cords come into gauges. 16 gauge for the heavy load machine, TS, 1400 and 2200 router etc. 18 Gauge for most o the Sanders. If you look at the cord ends you will see The difference, one has Arab the other doesn't,. The 16 can be used on all plug it setup. The 18 only on then sanders.

Sal,

I did notice the different ends, that what got me confused and wondering if somehow I got an old cord.  Your answer makes perfect sense and thank you.

For the suction on the vac, turn it all the way down then slowly up until you hear it just to start bog down the sander's motor.  Then back off the suction a little.  That's a good starting point, tweak from there.
