steady on there i was only praising your work, i dont bat for that side [tongue]

joking aside, I do like doing things like that but alway seem to under estimate the time a little and do a better job than a regular job but for less money, Greater satisfaction but less to pay morgage

how did you cut the middle section of skirting with the two cuts being so close, i need too know lol

I would say he cut one angle then flipped the piece or the chop saw over and then cut the other angle leaving him with the small piece he needed.

but how do you hold such a small piece on the saw without your fingers getting chopped off or a clamp getting in the road thats what i cant get my head around?

you use a longer piece of skirting and the bit you want is the bit you are not holding. cringe and prepare for potential missile

Read what I wrote dude.  Leaving him with the small piece he needed.      Ill say it differently the OFFCUT piece is the piece he needs.    So you have a large piece and the off cut is the piece you have ill do a sketch up for ya dude!

awwww i see thanks guys i get it now, i feel stupid now dont know why i never got that lol, anyway its a nice detail nice work

Number 1  Cut first    then 2 cut and your left with the off cut your require for the external corner mitre.    Your hands are well away from the blade as you can see in the picture!   Just down side is the piece might fly like Dean said!

jmb that hand looks like it tried to hold the small piece at some point with not so good results

yeah skirting was cut off a big piece, 22 1/2 degree then i flipped the saw to 221/2 deg the other way

jmb they are 3"10s lol

ive not seen skirting done like that before ive seen in on a few coving pics and had an experiment, its my living room i used as a test room

at first glance, i would say the work is magnificent. gonna take another gander

On the deck railing with the angled slats, would it be good to put weep holes on the lower horizontal stick?
