Good reply Jim!  We have been asking for those time and time again for over 6 years.   [sad]

But it certainly appears that Festool is not listening.  We are probably  [dead horse],
but I guess that all we can do is to keep reminding Christian and company that we still want this.

That was one of the questions when I had my Festool visit recently, the guy asked if I thought a cordless ts55 would be of any use ?. I said yeah but you would have to have a  corcless vac too. This is why they are looking at dust catchers as an option.

• The ultimate horses. (I'm unsure of the proper word. Trestle legs maybe? The ones you use to put your wood on when you are going to cut it up.)

This is a great idea. Light weight saw horses with extendable supports in between so they can support long or short stock in the center for ripping with TS saws.

Okay, let me put it this way. I wish Festool made ALL the "other" motorised workshop equipment. It kills me having to go from using my AWESOME Festools and then place my workpiece in a @#$& machine to continue the job.  [doh]

I Agree Cordless Vacuum would be good!!!!!!!  BUT I dont think you have to have a cordless Vacuum because cutting out side is what you would be doing with the Cordless TS55 well that's what I would use if for most! but also  also it would only be for a few cuts at the most if more I would use a corded.  I just want if for a quick straight cut with not hassle carrying a lot of stuff.

Just carry a Rail and systainer with cordless TS55 in it  cut sheet  fit the sheet and job done. No carrying vacuum no leads no setting up hose and everything.

Need to cut out a panel in a floor !simple! get Rail and systainer and  cut out and DONE!   straight cut panel to be replaced back after when finished!

Thats how I would use it

Tigger nailed it!  That's my biggest frustration, too. 
+1 on portable (lunchbox) planer/thicknesser
+1 on mulitple hoses from a CT (just running one tool at a time, though)

Another thing I would love is some way to shift the CT from automatic to manual at the end of the hose, maybe a remote or something...  Sometimes I get a mortise clogged and need to vacuum out the shavings.  Multiple hoses would also solve this...

Saw this post this morning, but didn't have time to reply. As some have pointed out, Festool probably couldn't do much to improve the multimaster, and the compressor in a systainer has already been done by Probena.

One thing that seems quite popular is a 'lunchbox' planer. I've thought in the past that that would be a great idea, in a systainer footprint. I meant to post it at the time, but I did a concept model of it - I've just posted details in this post.

Other things I'd like to see Festool make are:

a 45 degree base for the MFK700, to turn it into a small cove router;

a new version of the SE-HL Bench Unit for the HL850 planer, with an extended, longer bed for surfacing bigger timbers (perfect for use in conjunction with the SysPlaner!);

and, I'd like Festool UK to start importing Protool, and making them properly available in the UK. They are sort-of-available, in a sneak-in-and-ask-to-see-what's-under-the-counter kind of way [eek]

I agree that importing for the sister company makes sense. Why just expand the Festool side and ignore a market that should be at least as big?

As some have pointed out, Festool probably couldn't do much to improve the multimaster, and the compressor in a systainer has already been done by Probena.

I don't understand why people keep saying the MM can't be improved. If so, then why does Fein themselves improve the machines once in a while? And why do they offer two types ( MM and SuperCut)?

Those who kept their eye on the MM know that Fein just brought out a new cordless MM, but only after Bosch showed them the way with their GOP 10.8 version.

There is always room for improvement. And citing 'improvement' as the only reason to bring out a type of tool is utter non-sense. That is not what competition in a capitalist environment is about. It is about fighting for market share. Bosch took up the fight and now a number of people use the Bosch GOP instead of the MM simply because it's cordless. Fein had to respond and now have their own cordless version. This situation is a win-win for the consumer.

Same for the Prebena compressor. Those who actually worked with it report it's greatly underpowered for most uses but nailing. The more companies bring out their own versions the better or cheaper they can get and the bigger the choice is for consumers.

Someone I know personally (not naming names  :-X - in fact, for purposes of this discussion, let's just assume it was a friend of a friend of my cousin) recently escaped from the house of said sneaking non-employee with one of the two (that's right, he had TWO!!!!) shirts he had (allegedly, of course) previously pinched from said warehouse. This escapee, not normally the type to pinch things herself,  was more than a little disappointed to discover that the shirts in question are not only NOT denim, but not even 100% cotton.

So....

I wish Festool made a denim (and/or 100% cotton) shirt that's available to customers and only LOOKS like the ones Festool employees wear.

And here they say that a picture is worth a thousand words.  Oh well, I guess this just goes to prove the point that being able to actually touch and feel something like these shirts in question is far more telling that looking at some silly picture.  Oops, did I just call that picture silly?  [embarassed]  Goodness, I really meant that those non-denim shirts were silly.  So, Festool, how about some REAL denim shirts for us customers?  Maybe even send them to customers that accumulated a certain number of those otherwise useless tool points -- like a shirt for every $5,000 in purchases ...  (just let us worry about the extra closet space that this would require)  [smile]
