First Festool Purchase CT48, question about hoses/accessories

I picked up a CT48 today from the Festool Recondition sale that's going on. Probably going to add a 150/3 sander to go along with it. I've been researching for a while on getting a small dust collector, as using my big 6HP rigid shop vac is a pain with it connected to a dust deputy, the hose being too big to connect to my current RoS, and smaller items with 1.5" and 1" dust ports, etc.

If I read right the CT48 comes with the 27mm hose. I know there's a 36mm hose. Are the actual hose diameters different, or is it just the hose nozzles that are different? The idea of buying a second hose for $150 seems foolish if I can add/change a different nozzle on the 27mm.

What are some "Must Have" accessories for the CT48?

Thanks in advance.

Congrats on the purchase!! In the Festool system, the hose diameter also matches the nozzle. Therefore, the D27 has the more narrow end, whereas the D36 has a larger, 36mm diameter end.

The D27 should serve you well for most handheld tools, particularly sanders. The D36 hoses are better suited to bench top tools (Kapex, CMS, etc...), as well as hand held tools that are producing massive amounts of dust, such as a planer, heavy routing, Planex, etc....

The D27 is relatively light and nimble, whereas the D36 AS (antistatic) tends to be heavier and more stiff. I hope this helps!

You asked about accessories.

I have the boom arm option on a CT-26 and like it a lot - particularly work sanding or routing on the MFT or my workbench.

I have the Workshop cleaning kit which has the metal tubes and it comes with the larger hose.  If you don't need the larger hose, the smaller Compact Cleaning Kit might be an option.

I have the CT 36 when i first got it i bought the boom arm but always founf the regular 27mm hose i found it slightly to short moving around my paulk work bench.  I recently upgraded with a 15foot 36mm hose on the boom arm. I also and made a 36mm to 27mm adapter by cutting a 2 foot puece off my 27mm hose, now i have infinite reach and suction fit my needs.
I was given the contract clean up kit as a gift last year but i don't find i use much, but i do use the brush head attachment for cleaning up pieces before applying finish.

Cheers
