My wife and I were out looking for bedroom furniture and we found exactly what she wanted. Only problem was the quality wasn't great and the price for the value made me sick.

So, took some pictures and made changes to the design and quality. This is the end result. This was my first go with a more complex furniture build. As a novice I still have a lot of room for improvement but that is the name of the game.

Next up will be dressers.

Very nice. The drawer faces all are evenly spaced which is a sign of good execution.

I was interested because I'm building two gratis for some young friends. They sent me a pictures of what they wanted, but no plans. I'm using quarter sawn white oak. What did you use?

Those looks great. You did a really good job. I usually do the same as what you did when seeing inferior products out there

Thank you all!  I appreciate the feedback.

[member=15289]Birdhunter[/member] I used a combination of poplar and birch plywood.  I was really happy with how everything turned out material wise but a solid hardwood would definitely take the look up a level.

I wish my first project many years ago looked that good! I'm sure it's better made for less cost than most of the furniture available today.
