Hey all,
First project with my ts55... 125sander.. and ct-22...
Most importantly with the cutting table I made designed after Steve Jone's cutting table ... outrageous...
The top of the bench seat is alternating strips of 5/4 mahogany.. and 1/4" strips of painted white pine...
My wife wanted a cushion to cover the top of painted white birch on the bench... Outrageous how much the cushion would have cost.. wanted the top to look like an old Chris Craft boat...came out much better than I even imagined...
Cutting table made cutting up the panels for the cubbies a breeze... If you make any kind of cabinetry it is a must.. dial in the measurements.. and cut.. square every time..
Sorry pics are from my phone.. doesn't do it justice...

Super nice Jeff! Exactly what I need with 6 kids in and out of here. Great work!

Nice work.  I better type quick cause my wife has the exact same project on my Honey-do-list.

Looks great Jeff! Could you include some pictures showing us the actual building process? Like how you routed the ornaments of the legs and how you made and attached the shelves. What wood did you use for the other parts except for the bench seat?

Nice job Jeff.  Did you trim out the rest of the room as well or were you matching the built-ins to what was already there?

Very good work Jeff.

Is the stone floor the original, or new...?
The woodwork, trim color and stone floor visually complements the overall look.

Thanks Y'all,
This whole addiction got started cause my brother-in-laws brother built my kitchen in his shop in vermont... Beaded face frame inset 5/4 stock etc.. blumotion drawer glides... butt hinges etc.. I GC'd a fairly large addition on my house, and knew I wanted a ton of built-ins... He said "All you need is a Kreg jig and a Festool Saw"!!! Even though he has panel saw, sliding table etc..

Anyway, I wish I did take more pics of the process.. but you can go "festool jigs" and look up cutting table and see the table I used...

The whole thing was cut up of 3/4 birch ply... Actually used pine... cause I had a bunch for the face frames... doing my laundry room now with pre-finished maple ply interior and poplar face frames... inset.. using amana tool instile bead set for the doors.

Anyway the floor is slate tile.. Very inexpensive, but Definately achieved the look.. would have paid 5x the amount but still would have used it.. In the cubbies pic in the background.. you can see framed out beadboard.. I am going to install wood pegs in that.. 3 accross... 4 down.. and that is going to be a hat rack..

Thanks for all the comments... It is so nice to get feedback on the work we all do, by those who know how much fun it is.. and how much work too...

Yes Jeff, the fun.

But also the pressure we allow to be heaped on one self.  The understanding wife or at times, the not too understanding wife.  As to Why do you need to buy another Festool tool...?  ;D

I speak for myself, though I am sure others can relate.

jeff looks really nice... don't use a cushion the design you did was great.. afterall you only sit they a few minutes to take off shoes or put them on... so why a cushion.

nice design with the legs and wraping the base.

now go and buy some more festools and make your wife a small bench for her with a cushion to sit on outside...... lol

Honeydo,
Thanks.. what a great screen name.. isn't it the truth.. she gets upset when All I do is work on the house... but honey... it for you... she loves the finished product but hates the process... Hopefully she'll love the laundry room ... almost done.. enlisted some help on this one.. to speed things up... great working with a friend.. who also loves to work with wood.. coming soon... hopefully done by friday...The cutting table I made.. under festool jigs.. speeds up everything... without a doubt the one thing that has made my life very easy slicing up panels... 4 foot crosscutts almost always first.. dial it in and cut..

Well hopefully you will find it in the goodness of your heart to take some shots from now until Friday.  Perhaps with something other than your phone. ;D

Mud room then laundry room sounds like your working on HoneyDO Wish List.

thanks  that  is also the name of my business    "Honey-do" Handyman and Custom carpentry service..... the honey do name works great for attention.  but yes women just want to see the finished product and hate the mess and so on....  but once you complete this project she will have more added to the list they never end.

Honeydo, that's the problem with demonstrating competence, it perpetuates the demand! ???

Vk I just noticed your tagline, did you change it? It's the last part that people forget, there is no substitute for experienced ignorance!

Have to thank you for providing an answer to a problem.
Really nice work and idea
