I am drilling five accurate tangential back splats in each of six chairs. Some will scoff at the work gone to but if you have orthopedic hand issues, or replacement joints (shoulder), you will have a different perspective. The chair is built to plans from Fine Woodworking, Spring, 2006.
The issue on this segment of the project is to conform to the semicircular back rails, spacing five tenons (Dominoes) across the width in tangent alignment with the arc, r.=36".
The back rails were cut on MDF jigs in same fashion as a circle cutting jig for the band saw pivoting about a known distance and ⅛" dia. pin through the bandsaw.

Since the patterns were repurposed, the rails were assured of being an accurate match for drilling, noting that the mortises in question are drilled into the EDGE of the rail.https://www.festoolownersgroup.com/festool-jigs-tool-enhancements/subject-to-follow/?action=dlattach;attach=319479
The Domino rests on the new fixture and the workpiece is advanced across the arc, keeping thge tool in one location.
