Fleece bags CT 22

I still have a CTL 22 that is running fine. Ever since I found the fleece bags (456870) I have used those. Slightly more expensive, but the paper bags resulted in too many broken bags and that alone made it worth the price difference in otherwise lost bags, let alone the value of not having to clean a CT...

Anyway, I see they are discontinued now. Does anyone know why? And if they aren't coming back... what is the experience on 3rd party replacements?
I really do not want to go back to the easy-tear paper bags.

Thanks for the heads up on the status on bags for those  older dust extractors.
I have one CT 33 left.
I have been procrastinating about ordering more since I run with a Oneida on it.

I've only ever used the "regular" CT22 bags and since I don't use that extractor for "cleanup" a box lasts a long time. That said, I only have one left so thanks for the reminder to order more!

Thanks for the heads-up [member=8955]Coen[/member] ...I'll be another CT 22 owner driving up the prices for fleece bags.  [smile]

The paper bags are still available.
But having used the fleece bags without ever having an issue vs multiple torn paper bags... I don't want to go back.

Well, this is disappointing. I put my last paper bag on a few weeks ago and was looking forward to switching to fleece, which is what I use on the CT-26 at work.

Guess I better order something soon before they discontinue all of them.  [eek]

My CT-22 gets used for Dominos, sanding and the occasional track saw cut, so it takes a while to fill a bag.

The 26 bags are a different (superior?) kind of material than the 22/33/44/55 fleece bags.

My CT 22 is 'permanently' attached to a CS50. There the extra noise  compared to the newer 26 doesn't matter.

Nope...this is the present Festool offering.

They need to have the Vlies marking on them.  [sad]

Those are 3rd party bags. Note it says "Fits" in the title and the brand is "unbranded".

I assume;

Photo 1 and 2 are of the same product, with different lighting, this is what you will get.
Photo 3 is the original Festool paper bag, #452970
Photo 4 is the original Festool fleece bag, #456870

I have no clue on what the actual difference will be between that 3rd party fabric and the original (no longer) sold by Festool.

Adding a zipper to the bag kinda defeats the purpose. If you suck up a lot of masonry, concrete, plaster and other very fine types of dust, the pores of the bag will get clogged, and even when you "empty" the bag, there will be a huge loss of suction. If you suck up huge wood shavings, yeah, the result is different for sure. But whenever I visit somewhere with the wall chaser, my CTL (usually I take the 26), it will have lost a huge portion of the it's suction, even on 50% full bag. If it's attached to the CS 50 sucking up wood splinters, it gets to a full hose before you really notice..

Hmm, they have the same model number, 456870.

They aren't Festool. They are "compatible" = clone.

It might very well be the same quality. It might not be. I do not know.

See;
"Fits"
"452970 replacement"
"Unbranded"

etc.

I just opened the Dutch 2022 catalog (PDF) and the fleece bags were already gone from it. I know I got some in april 2022, just topping up the stockpile. Didn't have a need to get more since then.

Good eye Coen. I had already ordered some so I’ll post actual pics when they arrive.

The fabric from those first two photos looks more alike the CTL 26 bags than the CT 22 fleece bags.

Hey [member=8955]Coen[/member] ...you transposed the numbers for the Festool bags.

456870 is Vlies
452970 is paper

[smile]

Ya, digging a little deeper, the Vlies wasn't offered for the 22 & 33 series until 2010 when the 26 & 36 series was released with Vlies as standard.

I use the long lasting/fleece bags on both my 22 and 26. they work fine occasional gotta beat them to clean out the dust  Only issue I find is I do lose and little suction but not enough to really make a difference
