FLEX 6-1/2 inline circular saw

Interesting but a non-starter for me.

I'm not investing in another battery platform just for one tool, especially one that for me does not offer any advantage over tools (in this case a circular saw) that I already have more of than I need.

Yes, interesting.
I used to have a crappy little 5.5" Craftsman battery circular saw.  But it was my go-to saw because it was so small and light weight.  For 80% of what I was doing, it was fine.

Make that same saw but in a couple versions each that can use a different battery. So offer a version that can use Makita 18V batteries, one for Milwaukee M18 Fuel batteries, and one for DeWalt 20V MAX batteries. And knock the price down because you no longer have to include a charger or battery.

If they did that everyone would want one and this saw would be flying off the shelf.

I have one that I bought when first released with discount and 5 year guarantee.  I kep it in my van as a utility saw.  When I bought it I was hoping that it was the same battery platform as my Flex cordless car polishers but nooo.  None the less it's a great little saw.  I put an aluminum/plastic blade on it (all my saws have those type blades as I cut all sorts of materials.  It cuts 1/4" acrylic beautifully with great edges.
