FLEX Giraffe sander

If I'm not mistaken Flex are the inventors of the angle grinder and the wall/ceiling sanders systems.
Can't go wrong with those products from Flex !

I loaned a Flex to do my drywalling, they seem to be the standard but i wasn't really impressed. I botched some of the work simply because using it on ceilings drained the living lights out of me. Instead of having the pad extend away from the motor, it is the handle at the back of the motor that extends, like working with a garden trimmer that would have the engine in the middle of the bar and not at the back. I then looked at some vids of the planex and saw how much better it was engineered.

In terms of sanding it worked relatively well even though it would sometimes start to jump, this particular tool looks like the body is far from the pad. makes me feel like it could get jumpy as well, i think you want to be as close to the surface as possible for a stable control.

I hired one a few years ago to knock down a textured artex ceiling when a plasterer let me down to skim over it and I couldn't afford to lose the time waiting to rearrange, so I sanded it back with the Flex sander and painted it instead.

Worked excellently, very stable, balanced  and easy to operate.
