Over the past year or so there have been at least four threads that mentioned Flexzilla air hoses.  I ran across this link this morning and thought that I would share if anyone is interested.  Appropriate color?

Flexzilla Air Hose Deal

Happy shopping!

I use and sell them. They are truly excellent hoses. I even have a Flexzilla water hose (and some of the traditional type). It's a treat every time I pull out the hose to water the pots.

You must be overworked Peter. I ordered mine several days ago.

[big grin] [big grin] [big grin] [big grin]  I have to admit that I have never bought anything from Lee Valley, am not on any sort of email list with them, and have only visited their site a hand full of times.  Certainly nothing against them - they have a great following and a great reputation!  I just haven't been buying much stuff lately.  So it was a mere chance encounter to see this offer and post it here.  I guess I will have to check more often!

BTW, I forgot to mention that since they're now a full line Festool dealer, you're almost obligated to visit their website on a regular basis.

Great, great, great hose.  Had purchased a Hitachi hose (it was green, so it must be good, right?)a while back and spent more time wrangling with it and tripping on it during the day  than actually using hose.  The flexilla lays flat, so no tripping on it, and wraps up easily at the end of the day, smooth as butter. Best money I've spent in a long time.

I've looked at the 50' x 1/4" & 3/8" hoses before and they look nice.
Anyone using the 1/4"? I don't want to go back to 3/8" even though they are not as bulky as the tradition 3/8" hose.

Except for the color these seem like the ones they sell at Atlas.
Very flexible and lay flat. Real nice to use.

Well I guess that sleep is highly over rated for some but not me.  I know who my friends are. [poke]

I use Flexzilla hoses in my shop (I'm a professional mechanic). I do find them to be considerably better than other brands of hoses, but it's not all hugs and puppies. Their primary failing is that they're VERY rigid torsionally once full of air. This leads to them frequently refusing to lay flat against the floor, making them a major trip hazard. They are great though in that they're durable, don't kink, actually are pretty flexible, etc. They do get filthy nearly instantly though. They're only that green color for about a day.

You're so right, Williaty... They seem to attract brake dust and grease, but I think all other hoses do also.

It seems the reason it's so noticeable is that they start so bright green. They also apparently hold the stuff more than the PVC hoses that are so common.

Tom

Yeah I think the PVC hoses and the polyurethane hoses (what I used before) are slick enough the dirt comes off when you rub it over something.

I use 1/4" x 25' hose with my compressor. Was there supposed to be a question there?

I'm using the 1/4".  I wouldn't use the 3/8 since the flexilla does swell up a bit once filled compressed air.  As for getting dirty, I've had mine for a couple of months on jobsites and it really isn't that dirty.  I'm sure it soaks up oil and grease, but for woodworking its fine.

I thought about buying the 1/4" because i wanted something light & flexible for snaking around the shop.  Instead I got the 3/8" last year because I decided I didn't want the reduced air volume of the 1/4" (although probably fine for nail & brad guns).  I haven't found the 3/8" to be at all weighty or annoying like the usual old rubber hoses.
I'll have to try the water hose next.

Thanks Ron, Jon  , I may get a 3/8" 50' to put the tee off of and run 1/4" hoses off that.
