Earlier this morning we had a temporary outage starting with our Festool USA and Festool Canada websites.  We then had an issue with the FOG as I’m sure some of you are aware. Those three websites are hosted by an external server which was having some technical problems. The issues have been fixed and all three sites are currently up and running.
We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
Now back to your regularly scheduled tool talk![emoji3]

Or "regulation" of the internet by the Feds.

Not the "Feds". Just the admin's sycophant FCC. Grrrr! [mad]

Get ready for Internet "taxes".

Now that I have recovered from my separation anxiety - LETS TALK TOOLS!

Yeah.... leave it to Peter to get us back on track! [wink]

Nonetheless, we have gotten a taste of what we all will feel if the internet suddenly ends. Blood pressure now back to normal! [big grin]

Cheers,

Frank

Six years ago when I was elected to be a moderator here along with Forrest it was so cool.  We didn't have a playbook and could improvise.  Forrest was a genius when it came to searching and I relished the role of being a cheerleader and encouraging members to become comfortable here - like TalkFestool did.

Flash forward 6 years and now we are the largest and best website for Festool info, people are asking questions about all sorts of non Festool stuff, and we have tons of members just sitting by itching to answer questions from members from all over the world.  Now we might have to deal with separation issues if the FOG is down for awhile.

Priceless.  And a result of all the contributions made by you guys!!

Peter

I thought the earth was spinning on the wrong axis creating a downed FOG, anxiety filled but withdrawn members.

Sounds like Frank must have been going bananas, sitting in an Nigerian airport with no way to pass the time before he heads home to await multiple Festool shipments.  Safe travels.

Believe me, regulation of the internet by the FCC will not be limited to just taxes.

Guys,
I know this conversation is in jest, but let's get back to discussing the tools.

Thanks
Brent.

So, it was a dramatic event, fully equivalent to a total eclipse of the sun. What did we all learn from this situation???
We all need to get a life and text less and enjoy life more. That works for me.

What I found odd was, that every "is the website down?" site I tried - told me they
had no problem connecting to FOG??
Mmm.
But I did - so didn't know what to make of it.
Still don't [blink]

Brent, I am sure you will get used to it in time, but didn't Shane warn you that topics such as this just go and go!?  [big grin]

Hey Brent,

Stop Hiding!!! We know it's you that shows up as (1 hidden) in the "Who's viewing" list!! [wink]

Glad all is working correctly now.  Back to tools..... So when are we getting the CTL-SYS? [big grin]

Frank

I'm glad it's up, I actually had to talk to the wife and kids......

I sure hope they didn't get used to it
