I made a drip coffee stand about 20 years ago.  Dovetail joints and 3/4” thick oak.  I used it every day for those 20 years.  It shows the use.

A nice stand, but it uses up counter space.

I would like to make one that mounts under the upper cabinets and folds up when not in use.

I would like to use soft close hinges that would “close” to bring the piece to the “stored” position.

I did a google search and I did not find anything similar.

An alternative would be to mount it on sliding drawer track and have it store against the back splash.

Does a version of this already exist?  I am not interested in re-inventing the wheel.

Would this be for something like a Hario V60 or other single serve coffee brewing device?

I'm trying to envision what this would look like - would it fold down, hold the coffee brewing object over a mug/thermos, and then when done, fold back up under a cabinet?

This is the coffee maker I made 20 years ago.  It shows the 20 years of daily use.

I used blind dovetails.  The joints are still tight.

I made one for my brother-in-law using through dovetails and I glued a piece of dark green marble on the base.  The weight improves stability, and the dark marble does not show the coffee stains, plus it wipes clean easily.
