Folding MFT Table

Purpose: An outfeed table for my Table Saw which has MFT style holes for clamping, assembly, sanding, cross-cutting, etc.

Considerations:
  • Folding: For travel or moving out of the basement without disassembly.  Note: I've since purchased Bora Portamate XT's, Track Tubes, and Parf Guide System Mark II ... I'd recommend the latter if you want a mobile/portable solution.
  • Height: Lower than the TS ... perhaps low enough to keep a 1/2" MDF sheet on top to block the holes when not in use and so I don't have to remove the guide rail every time I use the TS.
  • Width: ~72" to match my TS.

Folding MFT Tables which inspired me ...

Price: The table cost me ~$600 in March of 2021. I bought the majority of 8020 from Tnutz except the pivot brackets, Pivot Nubs, and Deluxe Feet since Tnutz was out of stock.  I chose to add front/rear lower support braces to stiffen up the table since I wasn't planning to move it often and I feel they're helpful and cheap enough.

Quality: I had serious doubts about the quality for the price but they arrived in excellent condition.  You can find many others with positive feedback on race car simulator forums.

Customer Service: The technical person sometimes took a day or two to get back to me but was very helpful in calculating the proper leg dimension considering the foot and pivot nub clearances.

Final Result: Most of my time is spent working my regular job so I've not finished drilling the top, mounting it, or creating a sacrificial/replaceable strip beneath the guide rail where the saw blade cuts but hopefully this inspires somebody else to build their own table!

THank you for details.  Is that a PCS?

What is Mark II you mentioned?

That's a 220V 3HP Saw Stop PCS on the Industrial mobile base.

If you're in the US, TSO carries it otherwise I believe Axminster or some other vendor ...
UJK Parf Guide System Mark II
I also have same PCS so height is nice that it will match.
Ah thats what Mark II is. Thought it was something else.  I can put my SO to use.  Although I can reuse my tracktubes top.  I like the top that tracktubes made but I really don't like the tracktubes and base that i put together.  I used Kreg universal stand and put tracktubes on top. then mounted tracktubes mft top to the tracktubes.  What I don't like is that I don't have any vertical clamping as tracktubes are offset under mft and offer no side extrusions.

As long as you're using the same mobile base you should have the same height TS.  I shared the height measurement so you can double-check.

I just got my TrackTubes but was only intending to use that station for breaking down 4x8 sheets out in the garage after unloading them.  From there I'll do all my domino, dado's, sanding, assembling, etc. in the basement where the 8020 table has the side channels for clamping.  I don't get a lot of shop time so I'm not sure how valuable side clamping is but I know I've done it when I had my MFT/3 so should be a good addition for you.

Yep same mobile base . I use track tube setup as my mft bench

This is what it looks like

Nice top, where'd you get it?

If you don't want to build an entire table you might be able to drill a few holes closer to the edge of your existing top, attach some 8020, your hinge, and you'd have the side profile for clamping panels, etc...

Top is from tracktubes.  At one point Fred CNC'd them and sold. I bought one.  It comes with main part and 2 wings.  I actully do have 2 12" extrusions that are attached for the dashboard parts on front and back.  I can put 8020 on the sides, i did think about it.  But i'm not too happy with the entire bottom part, only thing i like from this setup is the tracktubes top and casters lol.  Everything else I want to replace.  I also have Ulmia workbench not in the picture but both of these take up lot of room.  So I'm trying to see if I can build something that can serve both purposes an mft for power tool work and ability to use hand tools.

Nothing wrong with building what you want.  Here are some additional resources I enjoyed reading ... he has other posts to you might want to check out also ...
