for those who have 850 planer - need the size

Hi,

I need to know if 850 planer will fit into Systainer 2, the height of which is 6 inches.
I bought 850 (without systainer), don't have it yet, just trying to figure out if I would be able to shovel it into Systainer 2 for which it sounds like I have a good deal too. I have another Systainer 2 that came with the drill but I need to know the size of the planer, can someone please share the information.

In the UK, although the EHL65 one-handed planer comes in a Systainer 2, the larger HL850 comes with a Systainer 3. This Systainer also includes the liner/insert for the HL850, which keeps everything in place:

Order No 451995,  Liner SYS KE-HL 850, Cost 6.93 GBP + VAT in UK

I therefore suspect that it's not possible to cram an HL850 into a Systainer 2.

I was at a tool store this afternoon and measured the max height of the HL 850. It's 17 cm.

You cannot remove handle.  Just wondering why do you want to do that.

well, I thought I might be able to jam it into systainer 2 for storage when I am not using it if I remove the handle and put the planer on the side

I forgot to mention the height of a sys 2 is 15,6 cm, so no luck.

I just emptied a sys2 & tried my 850 in it.  There is no way it will work, quite a bit to high.  Even on its side it wont work.  Sorry, probably not the answer you were looking for,
