I did set all the measurements etc. So it was just about changing the cutter.

I would be a lucky guy, if all my mistakes would always be so easy to fix. [emoji23]

Below you can find a shot after install.
The big cavities in the wide shelves will get 3 drawers each.

Then, sometime, the trim needs to be done all around.

I know what you mean.

There are two exceptions for me:
- if the lady has her mind made up
- if it is „part of the wall“ (i.e. storage etc)

Making a huge brownish (wood) wall really takes a lot of light from the room. And with the Books and things filling up this thing, it will be a lot less white anyways.

What joy a little bit of paint can bring...

Went out with the Mrs. on Saturday for some shopping and ended the day with a quick trip to the supply store and finally a stopover at IKEA.

I needed some “push-to-open” hardware and a couple of pieces from their IVAR line for some storage shelves.
We spent most of the time in the lamp section pondering over possibilities for the kitchen light.

There was one which was selected by the lady to be the most pretty, BUT it had gold accents.

A job for me to make the lady happy. So I took a strip of sandpaper and three coats of a silver paint to change the looks.

She is happy and I was quite astonished how well I could break apart the IKEA cable assembly and rebuild it. Quite serviceable.

Over the last weeks I had a small side project.
Pimping the guest bathroom in the new flat.

I had some beech leftovers from a wardrobe build and a couple of thicker beech tabletop cut offs from the scrap bin at my homecenter.

So here we are now, finally.
Beech „stick-on-frame“ for the mirror that was mounted by the landlord.
Plus a small cupboard below the sink. Doors are IKEAs push-to-open mechanism, so no visible hardware necessary.

While I was at it, I also changed the tap and drain, but will not show pictures of this. [emoji1785]
Always astonishing what accumulates in those pipes...
