My normal minimum for free shipping on Festool and Stabila ANONYMOUS WEB ORDERS is $110. The biggest reason why I consider these anonymous orders differently than one where I can talk to the buyer is simply that when I talk to the buyer, I can feel comfortable that they are getting what they need. A return or other dissatisfaction is costly. When I can talk to the buyer, I feel pretty confident that I will have only the most satisfied customers.
I also normally offer free shipping on any Festool or Stabila order, it's just that my website isn't configured to do it automatically because there are a lot of things that I sell, for which I can't afford to offer free shipping. I manually modify Festool and Stabila orders to ship free even if they are below the normal minimum. My customers that I can contact know that I don't charge for shipping on Festool orders. The only time I charge for shipping is if there is a really unusual situation, like recently a huge crate and 10' Guide Rail going to Maui - I split the cost with the buyer.
I also offer flexibility to the customer so that they go away satisfied and that they got what they need or want - no more, no less - as long as the deal is in keeping with the spirit of my Dealer Agreement. That Agreement is something I consider somewhat sacrosanct. It states that I will not UNDERSELL, it doesn't state that I won't find a way to make the customer happy.
I am adding a NEW PRODUCT LINE to the $110 minimum or otherwise free group...
These products are pretty interesting and are from a little ol' Texas company called Kinloch USA. The 3 main products, Wood Protect, Stone Protect, and Polished Countertop Sealer, are all zero-VOC products and are perfectly safe to apply and use. They also have a nanometer effective particle size, which allows you to refresh the protection on rare occasion without stripping off the old stuff - because it's in the material, not on it .
Kinloch USA designs nanotechnology treatments that protect porous and nonporous materials for a variety of industries. Their formulations are in use in America and Europe, both in residential and commercial applications.
They emphasize the importance of nanotechnology and the environmentally friendly aspect of their formulations because they do not exist anywhere else in the world. Polymer and acrylic sealers have solid chemicals in their formulation that are 100 times larger than the nanometer-sized molecules in products from Kinloch USA.
For outdoor applications, the typical sealer products do not impregnate below the surface and can not be protected from UV ray damage because it is physically impossible. The mixture is loaded with common UV inhibitors that have a very short life. The best UV inhibitors in the world usually don't last more than one year and once they fail the sealer is noneffective. The worn out sealer then requires stripping and reapplication which is a very time-consuming and difficult task. Some of the acrylics and polymers will even turn yellow if exposed to constant UV rays and they delaminate when the UV inhibitors stop working. Indoor applications of sealer products have the potential to chip and peel off, leaving unsightly spots.
If you want the next generation of wood, stone, concrete, or polished countertop protection, check us out or contact me directly.
Kind regards & Happy Holidays,
Tom
