The following in blue was provided by dovetail from his contact with CPO.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you for contacting CPO!

We understand you want to know if the $50.00 voucher is included with this purchase. At this time, the model we carry does not include the $50.00 voucher. We do apologize we are not able to apply this offer.

If we can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

I have a feeling they are wrong, so don't take their answer seriously.  Their customer service staff are friendly and good at processing returns (straightforward requests) but based on my experience with them providing product specific and promotion knowledge, they are poor, very poor.

Unless they are blatantly removing the vouchers, I am certain buyers will find the vouchers in the systainer.  They are probably thinking the unit will have some kind of sticker or form directly attached to the systainer or a stack of random rebate forms and not a unique numbered voucher.  Just my two cents...

I think you may be right, CPO left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. My brother already has tracking so once he gets his unit Ill let you guys know.

So glad I got mine from Shane, I am all ready to order using my voucher!

How many FOGers ordered one of these from CPO / eBay based on reading on FOG that they actually had some available ?

My brother did on my message to him when I saw it here the FOG, so 1 for sure.

The way they disappeared I am betting 20 or more.

I have copied and pasted my 2 cents from another thread regarding CPO and the vouchers.

I'm quite sure CPO simply isn't aware of the fact that the vouchers are in the systainers. The fact that they don't know about that is because they are a huge company with many different brands and you will get a robo-like response, rather than an informed response.
You can rest assured that the vouchers will be in there.

I think that they think that people are inquiring to apply a $50 voucher to this purchase.

Or maybe I am overthinking it.

Scott,

I think you could be spot on here.

While I posted some of this in the other thread it seems to belong here now that this thread is started.

I ask about the voucher three times, I ask three times because I ask each time they put up a new auction but still had not answered the first time.  I got three different answers.

The first responded based on the way I formatted my question that everything shipped from Festool was included, I took this along with the listing stating it was "unopened" to mean the voucher was intact.  At that point I ordered 2 to give as Xmas gifts, to people I normally spend 40-50 bucks on, so the voucher  made a significant impact on my decision, I would not have gotten them without the vouchers which I planned to use.

The second answer is as follows:

So as we know Festool (in one of these threads) has verified they all shipped with the voucher, so this along with the first email, the item was "unopened" and they all shipped with vouchers from Festool it was till all good.

I received my tracking email.

Then I received the third email which was a copy and past of the Dovetail email.  I sent an email back within 2 minutes pointing out the voucher would have been in the Sys from Festool, they answered me earlier with the two emails and listed it as unopened.  Then I wrote so you are saying contrary to the listing the item was indeed opened and something was taken out of it.  I have not heard back from that email yet.  Honestly, at that point I was pretty sure they had the voucher and the CSRs were confused.  The only thing that shakes that a little at the time of my last email to them they still had 7 remaining of the 3rd auction, 9 minutes after that email I sent them they ended the auction, coincidence, maybe, but I do not know.

If they come without vouchers I will be sending them back under a SNAD claim if needed.  I felt like I did my due diligence and went off their initial answers and the auction.  I still feel like they will come with the vouchers but we shall see, those family members may be getting a shirt instead of a sander for Christmas.

I suspect you are correct, at least I am hoping for those who did order from CPO, that the voucher will be included.

My earlier "BUYER BEWARE" post (in another thread), was solely based on the fact it was not included on the Ebay listing page under description, despite the fact it is the main selling point to purchase the sander at the reduced price.

Personally, I passed on this promotion because I am in the middle of obtaining accessories for something already purchased, and considered it a distraction from what I was already committed to do.  Otherwise, I'm sure I would have at least considered it.

I do hope everyone who wants one, gets one..(or two)!

I've posted a question elsewhere about the voucher being a deal breaker but seems warranted here too.

Isn't getting a Festool sander at $99 in a systainer worth $ 70+ a good enough deal for folks?

Y'all would normally scoop these up at $99 in a heartbeat without the voucher and hose connector and sandpaper - and thought you got Xmas in July present.  Those xtra things just added to the frenzy.

What kind of 5" sander can you buy for $99 or less every day ? A lot actually if you walk into the BORG ; but do they come with a fancy case ? Great dust collection ?  Are they a pleasure to use ?

Given the speed these flew off the shelves the first time, if you wanted /needed one and you missed out the second time because of the possibility of a missing voucher - well that's on you too.  Even if you factor in the voucher to the cost the sander and value it at $150 - that's still 25% off a sander from a manuf. that doesn't discount .  Still a bargain.

All those complaining about missing out on a sale because you didn't jump fast enough , or have to wait longer than the cool kids to get yours, or possibly not geting a coupon to save again should maybe reflect a bit on your first world problems.

NONE OF YOU ARE ENTITLED TO A CUT RATE PRICE LUXURY SANDER OR FUTURE DISCOUNT.  STOP WHINING ABOUT YOUR PERCEIVED MISFORTUNE .

I do agree with your assessment of the craze over the Pro5, but that's  where it stops for me.

You are pretty far off base as to the quality of this sander. I have used it for the last 3 days. It is a nice little sander for 99 bucks. It's definitely not the sander I would recommend to someone who didn't have a 5" sander and wasn't already into Festool. Festool made a mistake with this promotion, but not for the reasons I have seen posted, but that's another topic.

This is a 99 sander that is all it is. It comes behind the DeWalt and Makita 5" sanders even with it's upgraded power. Unless someone is in the Festool system it's not the best choice as The Pro5 is nowhere near the best 5" sander in the 99 dollar class. All the top companies 5" sanders have fantastic dust collection , 100 % for all practical purposes. All have more powerful motors and all remove material and leave as good a perfect finish faster than the Pro 5. As I mean to where I hobbyist would notice.

I am keeping my Pro5 as it is a better enough than the ETS 125(barley) that Ill use it. I am into the Plug it system. But to say it's better dust collection and better sander for 99 than others, well that's not true. And 99 is the regular price on these sanders and each of them is BETTER the the Pro 5, substantially. This will fall in the middle of the 5" category for the 99 reatail price range when the reviews come out, but if they try to compare it in the 185.00 to 225.00 category it will be at the bottom.

It's a deal for the Festool named tools, compared to Festools older 5" offerings, but that's it. Of course these are my opinions(My fact), take them or leave them.

Just going to have to wait for the sanders that were ordered to arrive.............................

Until then theses topics, for the most part, will be .................  [dead horse]

My sander from CPO arrived about an hour ago. On a positive note the voucher was in the systainer. However, there was very little packing material in the oversized shipping box. The systainer is broken. I will probably offer it in the classified section for what I paid for it before I start a return.

No corner styrofoam corner blocks from CPO. Just about four feet of brown wrapping paper crumpled up and tossed into the box that was almost twice the size of the systainer.

Pro5 sander arrived from CPO eBay, Voucher IS in box. CPO did adjust my price back to 99.00.

They apologized by phone and said the pricing was simply a mistake entry by employees manually entering the price in system at different times as they realizes their stock changed. I was told they are NOT on an Amazon auto pricing system like some think. The prices dont change due to an algorithm like they do on Amazon. They also followed up with an email stating they agreed their was a price mistake and refunded me 20.00.

I can't find verification that any other company than Amazon uses a change on the fly algorithmic price scheme. And it appears that amazon still manually enters and over rides loads of pricing as well.

So this blaming it on the computers doesn't have much stock,  CPO took the blame and fixed it for me.

Diddo CPO. I ordered off Ebay at $109.99 and then found they were $99.99 at the CPO website. Called CPO immediately and they corrected the amount on my order. Should be delivered tomorrow. I have always had great results from CPO!!

Got mine from CPO today and like the others, the voucher was in the systainer.  Mine was packed in a box that was essentially the same size as the systainer and not a shred of additional packing material.  It all turned out ok though - no damage.

Looks like my theory held.

How could anyone expect a CPO customer service person to be in tune with the hysteria about this product amongst those in the know?

I don't think there is anywhere on the planet that there is so much drama over this.

Time to adjourn the trekkie convention!!!
