Furniture floor protectors

Hi Folks,

We recently got new wood floors (Brazilian cherry from the Lauzon company), and I want to try to keep them relatively scratch free for as long as I can. I have put felt protectors on the feet of all my chairs and tables. Unfortunately, the felt appears to act as a magnet for the hair from our Golden Retriever: within minutes of pulling a great gob of hair off the felt, it's back.

Does anyone know of a good floor protector for the feet of the chairs and tables that won't accumulate dog hair? Perhaps some kind of teflon or delrin that won't scratch the floor?

Thanks in advance,
Poto

Tim have you used them?

Yes.  I've used them to keep sofas/chairs from sliding around on laminate/hardwood floors.  I don't know how well the glide function works.  They do not attract hair/dust like felt pads and they do a better job of keeping furniture from sliding around.  I install them into a counterbore so that the couch/chair feet are almost touching the floor - you have to look for the gap between floor and feet to notice it.  Installing them without the counterbore looks kinda funny to me.

Cool! Excellent ideas. The dog kennel will definitely not go over with my wife! I'll look into those Lee Valley glides. Thanks!
