garage flooded, minor damage to MFT/3 top

My garage flooded over the weekend, I guess it does rain in S. Calif.  I only had about 3" of water in the garage, but its still a major mess to clean up.  So...my MFT/3 was on the floor folded up and about 1" of the top was submerged.  Not a big deal, its all dry now but that 1" of the end that was submerged has raised up about 1/16" due to the top swelling.

I was thinking of trying to sand it to get flat again, or using the festool rails maybe setup my router to try and flatten that area (that seems like more work than its worth). I am worried that the top is compromised and I may make things worse trying to clean it up but I would like a flat top again.

Suggestions ? and yeah, I already considered Peter's kit to make a new top   but this is really not that bad.

I agree, sand it, BUT I think that I would let it dry thoroughly first.

Take the top off the frame, put a caul (1x maple etc.) on both sides covering the area that was wet and clamp it every 3-4 inches. Leave it for a couple days. Should compress it to fairly close to the original thickness and then sand it.

Mine got wet to and just carefully sanded it with my belt sander. I really need to figure out how to seal it.

Osmo, or another brand of clear wax oil will be fine, some use different forms of protection, like Shellac etc.
