Gecko guide rail adaptor screws are too tight

I just bought a gecko clamp.  The two phillips head screws on the guide rail adaptor are secured in the corresponding square nuts with some kind of permanent thread cement.  I cannot budge them.  I thought about using an impact wrench but I am afraid that would damage things.

I wrote a note on Festool website.  They have not responded.

    Welcome to the forum!

            I suggest you try calling them 888-337-8600.

            Not sure what type of thread lock it is but a few drops of acetone might loosen it. Many threadlockers are based on cyanoacrylate (super glue) . There are also some YouTube videos on removing threadlock.

Put them on the ground, put all your weight onto the back of an impact driver, and pull the trigger. Any slippage STOP! Normally I would say add heat, but not with plastic surrounding the nut. Mine are at home so I can't inspect them, but they either used a blue thread locker or none at all, as I remove them often to use for window installations, etc. The suction cups work awesome!

Festool uses a yellow thread locker which is rather odd...I take a 1/4" hex socket & 1/4" drive socket on a 1/4" ratchet and in it install a 1/4" hex drive #2 phillips bit. It gives me just that little extra bit of leverage without risking damage to the Gecko attachment. 

Once you remove the screws, then enough of the thread locker remains to keep them from vibrating loose however they will engage easily from then on.

Try gently warming the bolts with a heat gun.  Many thread lock compounds are thermo active.

Many thanks for the replies and suggestions.  I am reassured that I am not the only one who has seen this issue and there are possible solutions.  I will reply back when I am successful in loosening the threads.
