I’ve been coerced into building coffee tables from highly figured Black Walnut. After trying Rub on poly, I switched to Enduro Var Satin applied with foam brush.
It’s a lovely finish as long as I follow all the steps. I sand to 180 grit, dampen the wood and let dry. Sand again to 180 and vacuum.
Apply thin coat, let dry, sand to 320 , and vacuum. Apply 2 or more oats thin coats. I let the coats dry about 3 hours.
